We come to the last sermon from 1 Samuel 25, in which we look at the death of a fool, namely Nabal. In a sense, he dies three times in our text: drunkenness as a form of death, his heart turning to stone, in the second form, and finally death itself, for the third form.
But like all fools, it’s not the last death Nabal faces. There is one more death he faces, known as the Second Death, according to the Apostle John. It is the worst death, for it never ends, never ceases, as the LORD tells us.
In this sermon, I continue showing that feminism has no place in the Christian life, for its roots are in the fall and in Satan himself. While feminist are deceived by Satan, not all are. Abigail is one such woman. She seeks to remain in the sphere in which God placed her, serving her husband, even though he is a fool, and persuading David against murder.

Here is my second sermon on the role of women in the church. See last’s week’s sermon, Let Your Women Keep Silent. I recognize that this may not be a favorite topic of many, but what I’m preaching is what God’s word declares about the role of women in the church and the family, and subsequently, the role of men in both these spheres. This topic is most necessary. The evangelical church has given itself over to feminism, which is rooted in Satanism (see part of my sermon below). This should not surprise us since the goal of feminist is to exalt the woman over and above men, to have women serve where men serve, and force men to serve where should serve. The Church been doing this faithfully, for the feminists, for far too long. It’s time for the Church to be faithful to God’s calling, God’s created order, God’s roles for men and women, and return to what Scripture declares. No amount of camouflaging feminism, by calling it complementarianism will do. We must return to biblical patriarchy, for God is the ultimate patriarch, and His word is patriarchal.

Feminism is Rooted in Satanism
What I didn’t say, because this is new to me as well, is that modern feminism is actually rooted in Satanism. Augusto Zimmerman, in his article Women Under the Spell, shows that early feminist were all committed Satanist, in that they saw Satan, or the Serpent, as the hero of Genesis 3, and not the villain. They looked to Satan to free them from the shackles of God and the patriarchy He established in society.
He wrote… “leading figures of the early feminist movement, such as the suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the actress Sarah Bernhardt and the poet Renée Vivien, viewed God as the precursor of patriarchy and Satan as an ally in the fight against it…”
“Nineteenth-century feminists singled out Christianity along with the state as a key institution supporting the subjugation of women. In such a view, “the Christian ideal of wifely obedience, and marriage as such”, was seen as “incompatible with woman’s right to govern herself”. So they viewed Satan as a positive figure and Christianity was an obstacle that had to be removed for women to be emancipated.”
In other words, early feminists, wanting to throw off the shackles of God (see Psalm 2), aligned themselves with Satan in order to gain their freedom from God’s ordain order in society. They took the story of Genesis 3 and turned it on its head.
It’s OK though. The bible does speak to the feminist:
She was loud and rebellious, Her feet would not stay at home.
For she has cast down many wounded, and all who were slain by her were strong men. Her house is the way to hell, descending to the chambers of death (Proverbs 7:11, 26-27).

“Feminism is the cancer in the body of Christ that no one is willing to treat, and those who do mention it, end up feeling the wrath of the priestesses of feminism, and men who prop them.
Who can forget what happened to OPC pastor Michael Spangler a few years ago. He called out Aimee Byrd for being a closet feminist, leading women astray, inside the OPC.
The white knights of the presbyteries came running to Aimee’s defense, bringing Spangler up on charges, and suspending him from the ministry for two years.
Since that time, Aimee Byrd has left the OPC to find a more agreeable church, one the holds to her feminist/egalitarian views. Yet, the OPC says nothing to Spangler.”
A Facebook reminder just let me know that it was 9 years ago that I proposed to Heidi Ann. She said yes.

Some people playing coy about not knowing if the Bible tells us how old the world is.
Let’s see. Start at the beginning: God counts the first seven days of the world in creation, then He counts all the years of the first 10 generations of human history from Adam to Noah (about 1500 years), and then He counts the next 10 generations from Noah to Abraham (about 650 years). It’s almost like He wants us to count with Him. This brings us to around 1850 B.C.Then God tells Abraham it’ll be 400 years until his descendants inherit the promised land. It’s another 450 years to King David and then another ~500 to the exile of Judah. The Bible says there are 70 years of exile (1 year for every year in the land without sabbath years = 490 years). And then ~400 years until Christ.Add all of that up and you get around 4000 years B.C. And 2000 years since the birth of Christ. The world is around 6,000 years old.And for those people who want to to claim that the Bible doesn’t tell us exactly when God created the Heavens and Earth, only when He started working on the earth, Jesus disagrees: He said that God made Adam and Eve “in the beginning.” And Luke (the careful historian) broadly affirms the Old Testament chronology by giving the genealogy of Jesus back to Adam.
And to reiterate my earlier point, God made the world with certain elements already mature: trees, fruit, the bodies of Adam and Eve, starlight in transit, but most of the crazy geology and fossils got made in Noah’s (worldwide) flood. Yeah, I believe in that too, down to the giraffes sticking their heads out the windows of the ark.

“From a biblical standpoint, however, the whole question must be recast. God scattered humanity at Babel, and the Spirit of God worked rapidly, yea instantly, to create many new languages. We don’t know if Hebrew was set up at that time, or if Hebrew is the primordial language of humanity before Babel. In either event, it was created virtually ex nihilo, either around 4000 BC or around 2150 BC (Babel; cf. Gen. 10:25, 30 and 11:2).20 This being the case, such things as puns and other word-similarities were built into human languages by God, and where these occur in the Bible we ought not to think them adventitious. The words ’adam and ’adamah are indeed related, then, and the motherhood of the soil is in view.”
I hate white walls so much, I had to paint the walls in my garage. I love doing things in there, so it does matter. But before any of you say those wretched words: “man cave,” please note that my garage is not a man-cave. It’s a garage. If something needs the adjective “man” before it to make it acceptable, then it has already failed. Men don’t need to apply the word “man” in front of what we do, for legitimacy. We don’t wear buns. We don’t carry purses. We don’t need rooms labeled “man this or that.” In fact, in a man’s house, every room is his. If he is married, like I am, every room is ours. OK, enjoy the photo.

First, we’ve changed our position on the church calendar. Long story short, take every thought captive…

Dinner guest Pericope and Synecdoche. They don’t get any food while on the table. By the time we sit down for breakfast, they’ve already had their cat food and additional “yum, yum” as Heidi calls the gooey food.

The moment that Heidi mentioned getting a cat, in early October, I made sure to be affirming in that desire. We’ve been through this before and she would come to her senses about all the upkeep, and food, and upkeep, and more food.
Then she mentioned that the cats she wanted were actually sisters. It was then that I began to realize that this was no fleeting desire on her part. There were two cats that were indeed sisters that were in need of a good home and … well, apparently, we are the ones with the “good home.”
I think those words are used loosely among those trying to find any home for cats. There was no Cat Placement Agency to come by the house to make sure we have enough fire extinguishers, or … running water. They just said that if it didn’t work out in two months time, we could take the cats back.
That’s why I said “yes.” After all, if they didn’t work out, we could take them back. No problem… give it a whirl.
Give it a whirl? Who was I kidding.
Allow me to introduce to you: Pericope and Synecdoche.
OUR cats!!!
Walking through our favorite consignment store, I spotted this hutch and pointed it out to Heidi. She wasn’t keen on it because it was painted. I pointed out that it’s style was similar to the bookshelf I painted earlier and I could repaint it to match the bookshelf. She said if I wanted to.
I did.
I figured it would be easy to paint since all I had to do was lightly sand the existing paint for the new coat. WRONG. The paint just flaked off meaning I had to take it all the way down to the wood from top to bottom. Look at that first picture. Notice all those grooves in the wood? Where did that ever become a good idea for furniture? I got to the point where I was trying to sand the grooves out of existence. What should have been a weekend job, stretched out to weeks.
This past Saturday, with the help of my boys, we finished it.
Have I mentioned GROOVES? What a headache. I’m into grooveless furniture.

This is one project I have wanted to do for a long time, and glad that Heidi thought it was a good idea. I took the table given to me by longtime friend and sister in the LORD, Lucy, sanded it, and painted it. We have so much wood in the house, it really looks great.
I started by working on the leaves of the table.
