Cloudhaven

While my earlier post on heaven spoke of the beauty of the new creation, the other aspect of heaven will be the excellent fellowship. Gone will be the things that so plague our fellowship on this side of glory: distrust, false motives, lies, sin, and all the other things that so encumber and dampen relationships. The fellowship of heaven will be marked by perfect love, love that is not self-centered, filled with pride, or ruled by selfish ambition. Paul reveals this perfect love to us in Philippians 2:

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Cloudhaven, when I visited many years ago, had that kind of fellowship.

A Glimpse of Heaven Above Cloudcroft NM

One of the biblical truths that I have recently discovered, is that after Christ returns, He will make a new heaven and a new earth. In this new creation, those who have glorified bodies will walk, live, and glorify the King of kings. I think that places like the ones below are a small glimpse of the glory and beauty that the new heavens and new earth possess. In fact, something tells me that with all the beauty found below, it will pale in comparison to the new creation.

Yet, I rejoice at the beauty found above the town of Cloudcroft, N.M. It gently screams of the glory of our Creator.
