At the end of our vacation in Tennessee, my wife and I decided to take a trip over to Gatlinburg, TN to stay at the Buckhorn Inn. It’s a beautiful bed and breakfast tucked away in the Smoky Mountains just far enough away from the tourist infestation found in the valley. Both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both tourist traps. I thought Gatlinburg would be a quaint city to visit, much like Fredericksburg, TX is, but it’s not.
While I didn’t get many doors, I still thought it would be enjoyable for the Thursday Doors crowd gathered at Dan’s place.
You can see the mountains behind Heidi. This was our view looking out the window of our room, and for breakfast.
The lounge came equipped with fresh coffee and brownies. We spent an hour or so just reading and enjoying the moment.
The swan, which I was informed, could be dangerous.
One of the rooms in the Inn. Ours had the view of the mountain.
Part of breakfast.

Thank you for sharing your outing with us at Thurs. Doors. Love the green outside walls – very pleasing feel, and these chairs make it very inviting to sit in:).

I remember Gatlinburg more or less as you do: a great location in the Smoky mountains, close enough to the Appalachian Trail, but such a tourist trap! Good photos
