I drove over to Wills Point, TX on Saturday to see my youngest son march in his first Christmas parade with the Wills Point High School Marching Band. I was really hoping to see my boy marching, and get a picture of him.

It’s been years since I’ve been to a parade. The last parade I went to was in the early 2000s, in Aiken, SC. The only other parade I’ve been to was the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1983. That’s it, as far as I can remember. I’m not much of a parade person.

But I will watch one, and drive two hours, to see my son march in one.

Didn’t see him. No matter how hard I looked, I couldn’t pick him out of the band. Partly because I was told he was on the right side, not the left. However, I just realized that he was on the right side, as you are facing the band. He was on the left side as you marched with the band. So…

Even though I didn’t get to see him in the band, I snapped away hoping that I would somehow catch his image. Didn’t happen. But I got a few pics to share from the parade.
