In Memorial of the Imperial, Orpheum, and Strand Theaters

I loved the way this came about, a picture of pictures, that is actually a memorial mural, of the Imperial, Strand, and Orpheum. They must have been something in their day.

I think would prefer those theaters to the ones today because the ones today are too much of an assault on the senses. The older theaters were there to entertain the mind, make us think. Not so much today. Today’s theaters seek to entertain by assaulting and  overwhelming  our senses, leading us to believe that just by the noise and color and smells, and even feeling the sound, we have been entertained. I’ve quit going to such theaters.
