…but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
Since Christ first set foot on the scenes of Israel some 2,000 years ago, the response has been one of two things: faith leading to salvation, or hatred for the Holy One of Israel.
This latter response is the same that we are seeing at the Huffington Post this week in which Suzanne DeWitt Hall claims that if Christians would actually take the Bible literally, as we claim to do, then we would actually see that Jesus was a transgender male. Hall writes:
The worst offenders are the Christian’s who claim to take the Bible literally. Of course they don’t actually do that; they impose their own filters on stories and phrases to fit their particular ideology. If they really did as they claim to do, they would quickly see that Jesus must be, by their own exegetical rules, the first transgender male.
Then she quickly takes us through her convoluted logic, demonstrating her own filters on stories and phrases to fit her particular ideology. She doesn’t use Scripture to support her views, just twisted logic in which she imposes the idea the Eve was cloned from Adam, and Jesus was cloned from Mary, thereby making Him transgender. She shows her ignorance not only of Scripture and of the God behind the Word, but also of science, since cloning would mean that a clone of Adam, would have been another man, and a clone of Mary, would have been another woman. It is clear from her simple lack of understanding concerning cloning, she has no real business telling us her heretical views of Christ.
Therefore, I won’t bore you with any more of the details. Hall’s hatred of Jesus of Nazareth and His followers is obvious. Christ has already declared the truth about the Halls of the world, they hate Him because He testifies to the reality that their works are evil. This is the same hatred that led the president to make his bathroom decree in the first place. It is the same hatred that led Target to jump on board with the decree. It is the same hatred that leads others like Hall to set aside the simple powers of reasoning and jump on board with a policy that puts both women and children in danger. That is what hatred does to a person. We should not be surprised.
The obvious retort is that Huffpo & Co., would never say the same about Mohamed and Islam. That is because both groups share the same hatred for Christ and His followers. Islam, Huffpo, Target, our government, etc., are of the world. The world that Jesus speaks of in His statements I quoted above. They all hate Him because He exposes their evil for what it is.
Remember, it is not as though Jesus hasn’t spoken about marriage. He reasserts that marriage is between a man and a woman in Matthew 19. There is no room for gay marriage in His declaration. His statement is tied to creation, showing that this is the way we are created. This is what fuels the hatred at Huffpo. They do not want a Creator to declare anything to them at all. This is why the transgender movement and the pedophilia movement to follow is so important to them. They are shaking their fists at God (see Psalm 2).
This is what we must realize. Scripture has already declared to us the nature of men and women, the relationships that are acceptable to God and those that are not. These things are not changing because God’s word will never pass away and will not change. This leaves only two options for us: follow Christ and His word, or follow the world. I can promise you that if you follow the world, it will be a lot easier for you socially and professionally. However, realize that you will be joining those on the broad road that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13). Your pleasure will be short lived. It doesn’t matter how long you live, be it 8 years, or 80 years, it is always too short.
The first option, which is the one I highly recommend, is to follow Christ and His word. This requires that we actually read His word and believe it. The only people who are being fooled by Hall at Huffpo are those who don’t know the word of God. I’m sure many have read parts of the Bible, but they don’t know “the Word” and are not known by Him. Therefore their eyes are darkened, and they are fooled (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).
As for those of us who do follow, know that there will be much tribulation for us. The narrow gate is not an easy gate. While our burden will be light, we can expect to be hated because the world and the followers of Christ are at odds. We have been chosen out of the world to be the Father’s precious collection. The world has not been chosen. It wants nothing to do with the God who is.
Christians can expect it to get worse before it gets better. And we can expect more blasphemy from people like Hall at Huffpo & Co. It is what they do. It is all they can do given their fallen nature. Unless God moves, their hatred for Him will only continue to grow.
Given that they cannot change themselves, they will only continue to blaspheme God and His word. My non-prophetic prediction for Huffpo: Jesus was a pedophile. Sick? Absolutely. But that is what darkness does to the mind filled with hatred for the holy. Let us rejoice that we are part of the Holy One of Israel.
