Post Election Thoughts

I know that many are rejoicing about the gains the Republicans made in Tuesday’s election. I’m less than enthusiastic about the results because we’ve been here before. Remember, under George Bush, we had a Republican led house and senate, and the Republicans completely blew it by not acting with the power they had been given.

I really don’t have a lot of hope that the next Congress will be any different. Yes, there were some conservatives elected, but nothing will really change as long as moderates, like Mitch McConnell, remain in power. They will seek to water every thing down, making the legislation Democrat Lite.

This reality reminds me of one of my favorite songs: “my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness…”

  1. As i’ve always said, a narrow Republican majority is still a democrat majority. Given the last 8 years, no democrat should have won. This is the first election in a long time I haven’t really cared that much. America is a long way down the road of communism. This election was a minor setback, if that. Liberty is not befitting fools and a nation in which the majority of the people champion debauchery and sin is a nation of fools. Tyranny and poverty hurt, but they are part and partial to sin. Man will choose sin and never understand that his poverty and chains are because of it. This slight repast in our fall into slavery will only be used for us to become accustomed to our chains. Obama will do as he pleases, now even more do, and nobody will stop him, and I am convinced that no one can. We are just that far gone.
