Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers. I hope you have a wonderful day, but more importantly, you remember that God has blessed you and you do have reasons to be thankful. Even the breath we have is a blessing from HIM, the God of all creation!

I thought about posting my sermon text from this past Sunday, but thought it better to give you the link since I posted it on SermonAudio.com. Go and listen to the riches we have in Christ, provided… you are “in Christ.”

BTW, I’m not one who says that God loves you unconditionally. He doesn’t. The condition for His special love comes in Christ alone. I’ve been discussing this over on Facebook with some friends and one of the weaknesses of the church is this horrible idea that the living and true God who revealed Himself to us in the 66 books of the Bible loves all people unconditionally. He does not. Those outside of Christ are “children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:1-5). Only those “in Christ” are truly His children.

Here watch this video:

Now, be thankful you know the truth and if you are in Christ, rejoice at the mercy you have received. If you are not in Christ, trust in Him for salvation.

  1. Preach it! We left a church whose pastor had one note: “God loves you unconditionally.” Every sermon. The billboard they used to advertise the church. Ugh. I bet lots of people saw and heard that and thought, “Great! No need to change anything in my life or to repent and believe!”
