Discoverer of Titanic Confirms Evidence of Noah’s Flood in the Black Sea

I remember hearing about this discovery earlier. Two scientist, Walter Pitman and Bill Ryan, discovered signs of civilization along the floor of the Black Sea, which was a fresh-water lake at the time the civilizations were there. But all those communities were washed away in a great flood.

Now Bob Ballard, the man who discovered the Titanic, has also confirmed the finding using updated robotic technology. He says the findings and subsequent carbon dating of what has been found place the Noah’s flood at about 5,000 years B.C. All three scientist say that the flood that destroyed the lake and communities surrounding it happened very quickly.

“With more than 200 times the force of Niagara falls, the flood caused water levels in the Black Sea, which was no more than a large lake, to rise six inches per day and swallowed 60,000 square miles in less than a year,” wrote Hannah Fairfield in the Columbia News several years ago.

The people who lived there scattered as they fled the rising water that erased the obvious signs of their existence. But Ballard and his team believe the evidence of an ancient civilization is there for them the find.

That seems to fit what we are told in the Bible. I love pointing that out because there are so many skeptics the float through our lives, it’s good to see confirmation of what Scripture says by the science world. NOT THAT we need that confirmation. The Bible is God’s authoritative word, but we should expect to find evidence of what has been recorded in the archaeological record. And we do.

When Ballard launched his operation, he had a very specific goal in mind.

“We went in there to look for the flood,” Ballard told ABC News. “Not just a slow moving, advancing rise of sea level, but a really big flood that then stayed… The land that went under stayed under.”

Ballard’s team eventually found ancient pottery and what appears to be an ancient shoreline, which he believes supports the scientists’ theory. Based on carbon dating of the shells along that shoreline, Ballard estimates the flood happened around 5,000 B.C., which is believed to be the time of Noah.

Ballard, Pitman and Ryan believe it’s the recounting of this flood from generation to generation that evolved into the story of Noah’s Ark (Genesis chapters 6-9).

Pitman and Ryan wrote about their theory in “Noah’s Flood: The New Scientific Discoveries About the Event That Changed History.” The book was published in 1999 and ignited new interest in the Black Sea and surrounding region, an area once thought to have little significance in human history.

While Ballard said he does not expect to find Noah’s Ark — the ship itself — he hopes to find evidence of the civilization he believes was swept away.

Ballard and his team have plans to return to Turkey to continue their operation next summer.

BREAKING NEWS: Felix Baumgartner NOT First to Break Speed of Sound

BREAKING NEWS: We’ve found exclusive* video on Youtube showing that Felix Baumgartner was not the first man to jump out of a craft and break the speed of sound in his descent. This exclusive video shows that another man, who’s name has yet to be released to the public, beat Baumgartner in his death-defying jump.

Please, don’t watch this video if you don’t want the truth. It’s just too shocking how we can be so duped by the media and how biased they are. Baumgartner was only watched because he was sponsored by Red Bull! This poor man didn’t have such sponsorship… all he could get was the small toy company Lego to help him. So sad that he didn’t get any credit whatsoever.

OK, I hope you enjoyed that.

It was fun knowing that when Baumgartner made his historic leap into the history and record books, he was only about 25 miles away from where we were. We could see his balloon up in the stratosphere when we came out of church, although we could not see him since we didn’t have any binoculars or a telescope handy. We watched the jump on a cell phone and ran outside to watch when he made the jump. I thought I heard the sonic boom, but no one else did. Given my weak hearing, not sure that is what I heard.

Afterwards, Andy said “how come we didn’t hear the electronic boom?”

* (Realize that I use the word “exclusive” not in the sense that this video is actually exclusive, given that it is on Youtube. I use the word “exclusive” in the journalistic hype sense… which means it has no meaning whatsoever).

We Cannot Put God into a Testtube

In a recent post, I argued that an atheist’s attempt to deny the existence of God by saying we cannot prove His existence scientifically was playing on our ignorance of science and their ignorance of knowledge. What I meant by this is that we know quite a bit of what we know, without the advantage of science. Science truly is limited in it’s ability to help us know and understand our world and God. After all, you cannot put God in a testtube.

Just the thought of putting God in a testtube is beyond any level of reason since the God who has revealed Himself to us through His Word is outside of nature itself. Theologians have known this for years because we have been willing to look to His word to know what we know about Him. How are we to take that which is unknowable outside of special revelation and test Him using aspects of His creation? In other words, how do we test something or someone that is completely “other” than creation with creation itself?

When we say that God is “other” what we mean by this is that He is NOT His creation. God is something “other” than His creation. Therefore when we do look to creation, as theologians and believers, we do see His fingerprints, but we do not see Him. True Christianity does not believe in pantheism, which is the belief that God is actually creation itself. The living and true God exists outside of creation and is “other” than it. We do not know what this “other” is, but we do know that God is “other” and not the chair that I sit upon as I write this.

This is why the Bible is so necessary for us to know the God who is. This completely “other” being that created all things, in His love and kindness, not only revealed Himself to us, but also stepped into the created world to become the God-Man, known as Jesus Christ. This is why the incarnation is such a miracle: that which was “other” became a part of creation in order to save those who rebelled against the Supreme Other behind creation. He did not just sit off at a distance and judge us as was His right to do. He came after those that belonged to Him in order to save them from their rebellion.

This knowledge that we have been given through His word is historical in nature, not scientific in nature. This is the means and method God has chosen to reveal Himself to us. While science is very helpful in our world, it is not the end all and be all of what we know. It is actually quite limited in its capabilities for understanding the world in which we live, and if you study scientists and their theories long enough, you will find that quite a few of them have their own set of “beliefs” as well, since science is so limited.

You Cannot Prove God Exists Scientifically

One of the lines that you will often hear from atheists in their attacks on Christianity is that you cannot prove God scientifically. They make this claim in order to prove that there is no God, playing on our ignorance as believers about science.

You have to understand two things about what they are saying. First off, you cannot prove a negative. In other words you cannot prove that something does not exist scientifically because the method used to test something scientifically is to put forth a theory, test the theory, be able to see if the evidence in the theory is repeatable by others, and then develop new statements of thesis based upon what was learned.

Since proving something does not exist cannot be tested, then we cannot measure it scientifically. This is not to say that God does not exist, what it says is that the atheist who makes the claim, doesn’t understand science.

The other falsehood this is overlooked in the atheist’s claim that God doesn’t exist because you cannot prove Him scientifically is the assumption that we only know things to be true if we can prove them scientifically.

Their assumption is a very broad one because so many people put their faith in science for what we know to be true. Yet, you cannot prove a mother’s love for her children scientifically. You can prove it because you witness this love at a certain point in time, but that is not something that is repeatable over and over again.

In fact, we would be hard pressed to prove a lot of what we know scientifically.

The reality is that there are many ways we know things to be true that does not rest in the scientific realm. For instance, wisdom is not something that you can gain through science, and I’m merely speaking of general wisdom, not godly wisdom. General wisdom simply comes about by living life and going through various experiences that teach us what we know to be true and what we know to be false.

For instance, my mother told me when I was a teenager that it was always good to be home by 10 p.m. because nothing good ever happened after 10 p.m. I kind of thought she was being a kill joy until one night me and a guy were driving around in his car and we were attacked by some drunken thugs. The guy I was with was getting really upset as these drunken thugs smashed the windows out of his car. I was upset with him because he sat there and screamed about his car while they were hitting me with a pipe.

The next time my mother told me to be home by 10 p.m., because nothing ever good happened after 10 p.m., it suddenly dawned on me as to what she meant.

The point is that there are ways we know things to be true outside of science. While those in the scientific community may see the fingerprint of God in creation around them, it takes those with discerning hearts and minds to see His fingerprint for what it is. The rest are blind to those fingerprints.

The other reality we must admit when it comes to knowing about God is that He has not chosen to reveal Himself scientifically, but historically. He has revealed Himself to us in history and through His word.

This shows the true arrogance of the atheists because they refuse to believe in a God that will not submit Himself to their demands for scientific revelation. The truth of the matter is that God is God and He reveals Himself as He pleases, not at the whims of our modern-day skeptics.

He has also made it clear that where there is no belief, there is no knowledge. The atheists will never come to know God at all until he or she comes by faith to His word and accepts as given. Too many atheists won’t do that, because that requires them to believe in something far greater than they are, that has the right to judge them. This is the core reason most people don’t believe. They believe wrongly that if they don’t believe, God has no right to judge them. Since judgment is what they are trying to avoid, they remain in ignorance and the judgment is heaped upon them.

The Dreaded Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula!

Foxnews.com has a story on the Dreaded Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula, the most deadly spider in existence. But they get it ALL wrong. How? Let me tell you. First, the story is based upon the global warming theory that the Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula will be able to migrate from areas in the south to areas in the north, like Minnesota. This, of course, is based on the popular and unscientific data that says that global warming is truly occurring and before long, Minnesotans will be using sun screen in mid-March because they are walking around in shorts.

Secondly, this story is also based on the completely unscientific data that says that the dreaded Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula doesn’t already exist in Minnesota, which we know not to be true because they got there on banana trucks headed for the local Super Wal-Mart.

Furthermore, this article also indicates that many people, such as yours truly, fail to identify the Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula, mistaking common ordinary brown spiders for this evil spider. In fact, a scientist (so he claims!) did a test where he asked people to send him spiders that they thought were the dreaded Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula, and that most people failed to get it right! This shows that he has no scientific credibility, for he cannot identify the Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula.

THEREFORE, (notice I use all caps, which means I’m about to say something important), THEREFORE, let me give you the identifying marks of the dreaded Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula just in case you happen not to know what this spider looks like: first, these dreaded spiders have eight legs, just like ordinary spiders. Secondly, these spiders appear… INSIDE MY HOME. KILL IT, KILL IT, KILL IT DEAD! I know that I have a picture of a spider with this post, but this is only one representation of the dreaded Brown Recluse Widow Tarantula. By the way, most so-called scientists have yet to correctly identity this evil spider. So don’t listen to them.

I’m sure most of you can correctly identify these wicked and deadly spiders without any necessary aid from me, and especially any aid from the scientist. This is clearly one obvious case where scientists are dead wrong and should not be listened to (this little know fact will also lead to the extinction of scientists before long. Don’t worry, this problem cannot last long). So if you see a spider with eight legs, take the John Wayne approach, “The only good spider is a dead spider!” KILL IT DEAD!

Al Gore Still At It

Al Gore is still at it. He is trying to convince us that global warming is a real problem we must face today. His new tactic, like all those who still believe in this man-made religion, is that global warming is causing all of this extreme cold weather.

Remember, man-made global warming was also the cause of all the heat waves that we have experienced in the past 10 years, along with both the presence of hurricanes and the absence of hurricanes. Global warming advocates also feel that the presence of rain and the absence of rain is caused by man-made global warming. They are basically saying that if we have bad weather, or good weather, it is a result of man-made global warming.

This is what one should expect from those who deny the living and true God. AS Romans 1 indicates, they tend to replace the true God with a god of their own making, i.e., god of global warming, whom we must appease by taxing industry and banning the use of SUVs. (Who says the mythology of the Greeks no longer exist?)

The point is that Al Gore is a real dunderhead in his persistence of claiming bad weather is the result of man-made global warming. You can read about it here, where you will also find true climatologist commenting on the problem. Here is what the real scientist are saying:

“Gore’s statement actually indicates a deeper problem — lack of precise predictions,” said Dr. William M. Briggs, a statistician and climate scientist. His research shows that there are no increased weather problems because of global warming, Briggs told FoxNews.com.

“He’s saying that anything bad that happens must be because global warming caused it. Activists like Gore are great at identifying events after the fact as being caused by global warming, but terrible at predicting them beforehand,” Briggs said.

Meteorologist Art Horn agreed, noting the extensive history of devastating weather over the millennia — none of which he connects with global warming.

“If one actually studies the history of weather over the last 2,000 years, you see massive storms, amazing heat, brutal cold waves, devastating droughts, terrible floods and disastrous hurricanes — none caused by global warming,” he told FoxNews.com.

That should help clear this up. If you would like to continue in this false belief of man-made global warming, please, put your money where your mouth is and drive one of those non-energy saving green cars. That is your sacrament as well as a tithe to your religion. But it is becoming more and more evident that believing in global warming really takes a great deal of faith in people like Al Gore. Do you really want to put your faith in him? I hope not.

Overpopulation is a Myth

I love these videos. They think about common problems that are always put forth by the Left, like the myth that the world is becoming overpopulated, and that overpopulation leads to famine. Both these videos address these issue. You can find more here at their web site: Overpopulation is a Myth. They also give the science behind each video.

I would like to remind you that God has told us to go forth and fill the earth with our off spring. This mandate that He has given us has not been rescinded. No, we are not running out of room. There is more empty land in our country alone that sits with nothing on it than you can walk across in a life time. So there is plenty of room for more people. We are to fill the earth. Please pray for my wife and I as we would like to have more children. But on to the videos.
