Meeting Dr. James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. James White of Alpha and Omega Ministries last week when I was in Arizona for the Southwest Presbytery meeting. Dr. White is an apologists that does a lot of work with atheists, Muslims, Mormons, and whoever else he needs to in order to defend the faith again falsehood.

He gave about an hour lecture on dealing with Islam for us and it was quite enlightening. There were several points that really were helpful in understanding Islam.

  1. First, we must realize that Muslims recite daily that their god is one god in a direct attack against the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, and God in the flesh. This shows us the huge hurdle we have in reaching those of Islam.
  2. Secondly, in their understanding of Christianity, Muslim’s believe that we actually have three gods, the Father, the Son and Mary, not a trinitarian God of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Dr. White said he believes this view came about because the author of the Koran only had the faintest glimpse of true Christianity and did not truly understand what we believe.
  3. Third, that we need to be truthful and straightforward with them about the person of Christ and the implications of Him being the Son of God. He said far too many (read liberal) Christians want to placate Islam by never truly confronting them with the truth.

This last point was really helpful because it helps us see that those in Islam do not respect those of us who are willing to concede our beliefs simply to be liked by them. I think far too many believers fall into this trap. We want to be liked, so we never continue forward with the truth of the gospel and the implications.

Dr. White said that at the end of his debates, he will often challenge those who are Islamic with the reality that they must come to grips with the fact that Christ is the Son of God, and the very One who created the heavens and the earth, and they must either believe in Him and be saved, or perish.

They actually respect this approach more than they respect those who are seeking to “win” over Muslims by being “nice.” For more, visit his site, (link above), or watch the following video on the 40 words that they recite every day:

Roundup That Matters

Pastor Youcef still needs our prayers plus an UPDATE — as of today, Pastor Youcef is still thought to be alive in Iran even though he has been sentenced to death for converting from Islam to Christianity.

We know that God ultimately holds Pastor Youcef’s future in His hands, so we trust that whatever happens, God will be glorified and the gospel will go forward. But we still must pray for his deliverance and ask the LORD to have him spared from the radicals of Islam.

Here is the latest video on the case:

Not Afraid to Tell Her Story — Here is a post about Athena Dean who was involved in a terrible cult of mind control for the past 12 years. While in it, she lost her husband, family, home, business and car all because she fell under the Satanic control of cult-leader Tim Williams. Her business was running Wine Press, which was a successful small business until Williams and company showed up on the scene. Like many cults, Williams has left a long trail of broken Christians in his path.

Remember, we are to follow Christ, not men, especially when they twist Scripture to support their arguments. Whenever someone says that you should do something because God said so, and they point to the Bible to support their case, realize that this isn’t how Christianity operates. Athena also has a piece of the tactics of the cults.

Seven States File Lawuit over Obama Mandate — Good news. We see that seven states which include Texas, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma and South Carolina, are filing a lawsuit in district court to stop the Obama mandate that would require religious institutions to provide health care that would provide abortions and contraceptions that are against their religious beliefs. As we saw in my post yesterday, the so-called compromise, was not a compromise at all and the mandate as it was written is still the mandate that is being required by Health and Human Services, which is a violation of our rights guaranteed under the First Amendment. The mandate demands that those who believe it is fundamentally wrong to kill a child would still have to pay for services that kill children. With this issue and the issue of Arizona’s immigration law, it’s sad to see that Americans greatest opponent to freedom and liberty is our own president. Alas, but we tried to warn our friends and families who were so ga-ga over this man, yet they would not listen.

Obama Confident He Has Another Five Years — not if we have anything to say about it. King Obama declared to Univision that he has another five years to set his plans in place. There he is quoted as saying the following:

“Well, first of all … my presidency is not over,” Obama, who just a few months ago described himself as an underdog in the presidential race, said in a telephone interview.  ”I’ve got another five years coming up. We’re going to get this done,” he said.

“I would have only broken my promise if I hadn’t tried,” he said. “But ultimately, I’m one man. You know, we live in a democracy. We don’t live in a monarchy. I’m not the king. I’m the president. And so, I can only implement those laws that are passed through Congress.”

Given that we know he lies and actually believe and does the opposite of what he says in public, he really does see himself as king. Just given that he made that statement is quite telling. He has actually thought about it, desired it, wished it, so he could do away with that pesky Constitution that keeps him from implementing all his socialistic programs. Thank God we do have the Constitution and we have people who are still standing up for it.
Runaway Slave Still Working for Release — The movie Runaway Slave is still working to be released on a wide scale. The movie was shown in Washington for its premiere to about 200 blacks, all of which gave the movie a standing ovation at it’s conclusion. The movie focuses on how Democrat policies have actually enslaved black people to the Liberal agenda. As on commentator on the movie said… “the Democrats want the government to become our god.” I think the political cartoon at the top of the posts illustrates the point. The more people who are dependent upon government, the more government controls our lives, the more power they have. That is socialism. Every country that has tried it has failed. You can see the failures in Obama’s policies already.
I saw this comment over at Neil’s blog by Roxeanne De Luca, about the hypocrisy of the left. It captures what the movie is trying to say, and the cartoon above:

Amazing smackdown, Neil. Why does the Left never discuss how their own failed policies cause the poverty they are trying to prevent? They make housing obscenely expensive via “free” money and mandates, then cry about how the “free market” caused the housing bubble. They make it nearly impossible to commit mentally ill homeless people, then can’t figure out why we can’t get people off the streets. They undermine the dignity of an honest day’s work, then can’t figure out why people refuse to get off welfare. Then, when they’ve gotten the government and their twisted interpretation of the Constitution to really make a muck of things, the “solution” is more government intervention. As the Queen of Swords and I were saying today, it’s like people who ignore you when you tell them to not eat ten deep-fried Twinkies a day, then, when they turn into whales, say that the only solution to their problem is to eat more deep-fried Twinkies, because eating boosts the metabolism.

Speaking of Islam: Refuting Chrislam

David Dollins has a good piece at the Christian Post on Chrislam, an attempt by daft Christians who are trying to find common ground with Islam. There is no common ground with Islam. Christianity is the one true religion because it is the only one in which God saves man. All other religions are man’s attempts to save themselves. To try and find some common ground is pointless because you are affirming the beliefs of those in false religions. The loving response to all religions besides true Christianity is to reject them outright and show those in other religions why they need Christ as their savior.

For example, in my previous post on Islam’s accepted practice of child abuse, we can see that even Mohammed, the founder of Islam, is in need of a savior for his sins. His propensity for child abuse shows him to be a sinner, therefore he needs someone to atone for that sin. The only name by which anyone can be saved is Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). No matter how sincere Muslims may be in their faith, whether they are being true to their religion by marrying little girls, or flying planes into the side of buildings, they do not earn any level of righteousness with God. Remember God’s word: all fall short of the glory of God, and there is no one righteous, no not one (see Romans 3). The point being that the leaders of all other religions are in need of redemption by the atoning sacrifice of Christ just as much as the rest of us. Even if they do live perfect lives according to their own religion, they fall dreadfully short of God’s glory and will spend eternity in hell.

This is what they need to be told, not that they have some common ground with Christianity. They do not.

Here are four points that Dollins shows is the spirit of anti-christ, which is abundant in our society today, and thoroughly saturating Islam:

‘Chrislam’ – A Spirit of Antichrist

What I am about to show you are the characteristics that the Apostle John himself used to describe the Spirit of Antichrist:

1) The Spirit of Antichrist denies that Jesus is the Christ. In 1 John 2:22, it says, “Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is Antichrist…” The word ‘Christ’ in the original Greek means ‘Anointed One’. In other words, it is a declaration of Jesus as Messiah. Islam rejects that Jesus is the one and only true Messiah. They believe He was a prophet and maybe a type of Messiah, but not the Anointed One. If that’s not enough, John goes further by calling them liars.

2) The Spirit of Antichrist denies that Jesus is the Son of God. In 1 John 2:22, the Apostle continues, “He is Antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son”. Islam rejects that Jesus affirmed He was the Son of God. Furthermore, one well-known Bible teacher said that Muslims believe that the Mahdi is the future leader and that Jesus will return and follow the Mahdi to Jerusalem where He (Jesus) will deny He is the Son of God. Again, in this same verse, John said those who reject His Sonship were liars.

3) The Spirit of Antichrist does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. In 1 John 4:3, again the Apostle states, “And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that Spirit of Antichrist…” Did you catch that? Any spirit that rejects God as coming in the flesh is ‘not of God’. If it didn’t come from God, then it is a doctrine of devils according to the Apostle Paul himself, as stated earlier. Islam rejects that God came into this world in the flesh. This also tells us that the Christian God, who is Jesus Christ, is not the same as the Muslim god, Allah. It also proves that Allah is a false god.

Finally, the following are some of the last words the Apostle Peter would write before, according to tradition, he was crucified upside-down. “But there were false Prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord Who bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction” (2 Peter 2:1). For these Church leaders, who are blind watchmen, to bring Islam and the reading of the Quran into the Church is to deny the Lord himself, it is to deny who He is, and it is to deny what He accomplished at Calvary’s Cross 2,000 years ago, when He gave His life for the sins of the world! Just as bad, it is an open acceptance of the Spirit of Antichrist, which John said will bring swift destruction and ultimately, yet sadly, the damning of the soul.

He points out that what we need to do as Christians is proclaim the truth, not try and find common ground. There is no common ground between light and darkness. Therefore as those called by Christ, let us proclaim His name to the world.

The Religion of Peace OKs Marrying and Raping Children

Yes, the religion of peace, otherwise known as Islam, has said that it is OK to marry young girls and have sex with them even before they reach puberty. According to Raymond Ibrahim, a fatwa has been issued by one of the religions top clerics. His defense is the fact that the main prophet, Mohammed, married a girl when she was 7 and had sex with her when she was 9. This shows us that the origins of the religion were based in wretched sin, and it continues today. Ibrahim writes:

Muslim “child-marriage”—euphemism for pedophilia—is making headlines again, at least in Arabic media: Dr. Salih bin Fawzan, a prominent cleric and member of Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, just issued a fatwa asserting that there is no minimum age for marriage, and that girls can be married “even if they are in the cradle.”

Appearing in Saudi papers on July 13, the fatwa complains that “Uninformed interference with Sharia rulings by the press and journalists is on the increase, posing dire consequences to society, including their interference with the question of marriage to small girls who have not reached maturity, and their demand that a minimum age be set for girls to marry.”

Fawzan insists that nowhere does Sharia set an age limit for marrying girls: like countless Muslim scholars before him, he relies on Koran 65:4, which discusses marriage to females who have not yet begun menstruating (i.e., are prepubescent)  and the fact that Muhammad, Islam’s role model, married Aisha when she was 6-years-old, “consummating” the marriage—or, in modern parlance, raping her—when she was 9.

The point of the Saudi fatwa, however, is not that girls as young as 9 can have sex, based on Muhammad’s example, but rather that there is no age limit whatsoever; the only question open to consideration is whether the girl is physically capable of handling her husband/rapist.

I’m trying to figure out how anyone could defend this religion as moral on any account. They not only want to kill those who disagree, but they rape their own daughters. Wretched.

One of the marks of a false religion is how they view sex. If it is anything other than a man and woman who are lawfully married then it is outside of God’s lawfully ordained prescription for sex. This includes cults who have more than one bride or teach that sex in all situations is a sin and should be avoided (i.e., see the Shakers… which are almost extinct now because of this practice). God has blessed us with the gift of sex, but it is only a blessing when it is confined to marriage, which God also defines as between a man and a woman. Not a man/man, woman/woman, man/little girl, man and a dog, etc. Anything else comes from the base and perverted mind and is outside of God’s declared will.

Those who adhere to Islamic principles will say that Allah has said that it is OK to marry little girls. I agree that this may be true. However I do not agree that Allah and the Triune God are one and the same. God would not and cannot contradict Himself, and has made His will known to us through the 66 books of the Bible and in the Second Person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ. Islam rejects Christ. They claim He is a prophet, but anything less than full submission to Christ is a rejection of Christ. To reject the Son is to reject the Father, this is why I say they worship a different god all together. The god of Islam and the Mormons are probably closer in origin than they are with the living and true God.

The point is that Muslims are so far out of God’s will that we are seeing the fruit of their wickedness: a declaration that it is OK to marry and rape little girls. Sick.

I hope and pray that those of us in Christian circles will quit trying to understand them, and preach the gospel to these people. They need Christ as much as anyone.

Col. Allen West on Understanding Islam’s Intent of Destroying Us

The reason so many of us like Col. Allen West is because he is so willing to speak the truth concerning our enemies, specifically Islam. In this video he gives historical evidence as to why Islam continues to be a religion of violence. It is not because extremists have taken over the religion, it is because the religion itself is about destroying its enemies. The reason they attack us is because this is part of their belief system. Those who claim Islam is a religion of peace are either fooled or are liars. It is not about peace, but of destruction.

Please do not buy into the lie that Islam is a religion of peace. It is not nor has it ever been.

West mentions the Battle of Tours in his rebuttal against Islam. It truly was an important battle because it stopped the Islamic horde from advancing into  Europe. While I give Wikipedia any real authority, they did have this to say about that particular battle:

Later Christian chroniclers and pre-20th century historians praised Charles Martel as the champion of Christianity, characterizing the battle as the decisive turning point in the struggle against Islam, a struggle which preserved Christianity as the religion of Europe; according to modern military historian Victor Davis Hanson, “most of the 18th and 19th century historians, like Gibbon, saw Poitiers (Tours), as a landmark battle that marked the high tide of the Muslim advance into Europe.”[10]Leopold von Ranke felt that “Poitiers was the turning point of one of the most important epochs in the history of the world.”

The point is that Islam was advancing as they always do, through the use of the sword and Christians had to stand up against them in order to stop that advancement. It is also very important for Christians to know of this battle because Muslim are always quick to accuse Christianity as the violent religion due to the ill-advised Crusades. But notice the date of this battle: 732. The first Crusade was in 1092. That is a good 360 years after the Battle of Tours. Muslims are banking on our ignorance in referring to the Crusades, trying to imply that we were the first to draw the sword against them. Never mind their continued attacks from the moment of Islamic inception, the Battle of Tours in 732, which stopped those attacks, and the fact that the first Crusade was called for because of Islamic attack on the Christians in the area modern-day Turkey.

As Christians, it helps us to not only to be students of the word of God, but of history as well. It shows us that God was working in history and continues to work for His glory today.

Allen West on Co-exist Bumper Sticker

As you know from my previous post on this, I can’t stand the bumper sticker “coexist.” It’s mindless liberalism. Allen West cannot stand it either. Listen to his reasoning:

Allen West on Obama’s Lack of Leadership

And one more… to give you a great taste for Allen West. I love his straight forward and truthful responses to the issues that concern us.

Ishmael: Blessed But Not Chosen

I know that there is a dispute among Jews, Christians and Muslims as to who is the chosen line of Abraham. For Jews and Christians, the claim is that it is through Isaac that covenantal blessings flow. For those of Islamic faith, they claim it is Ismael.

But what does the Word of God say? Any time there is a dispute about theological differences, we must come back to the authority for our beliefs to be shaped. In fact, the Word of God says that when God was giving Abraham the sign of the covenant, namely circumcision, that Abraham asked God that the covenant would be placed on Ishmael. Genesis 17:17-18 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” 18 And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!

Abraham knows the difficulty that it will be for he and Sarah to have a child. This is what brought about his impatience in the first place, leading him to sleep with Hagar, which gave him Ishmael. This is one of those points where we see the Father of all who truly believe  (Galatians 3:7), falling short in trusting God. Remember that God had told Abraham that he would be blessed and a father of many nations. Abraham got impatient, and took matters into his own hands.

Yet, the covenantal blessings are not to be upon Ishmael, but Isaac, whom Sarah will give birth to. When Abraham asks God to allow Ishmael to be the one in which those covenantal blessings flow, God rejects his request. Genesis 17:19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.”

God says no. He will not have His chosen people come from a union that was conceived in sin. He wants His line to come from those He has chosen. The people of God are always His work, not man’s work. Therefore He tells Abraham that it will be through Sarah that the covenantal blessings will spring forth. It is through this line that the Messiah will come and redeem the chosen throughout the world. God will not have fallen man adding to His plan of redemption. Even though Abraham was a friend of God, it is God’s work that brings about this redemption and Isaac.

That is part of the beauty of this redemptive event. God is showing that when it comes to His will and plan, He can work through a couple that are far past the age of childbearing. Genesis 18:11-12 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.[a] 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

The idea of the phrase, passed the age of childbearing, actually comes from a Hebrew idiom meaning: the manner of women. That referred to a woman’s menstrual cycle. The text is telling us that Sarah no longer had the ability to have children. A miracle will have to be performed in order for her to have children. God will have to take something that is dead and make it alive. He will have to bring her womb to life again for her to have a child (probably Abraham too). This is what God does when it comes to our redemption. At every point, we are saved by Him, whether that is His plan to bring us the Savior, or working in our lives to get us to the point of belief. He is in the habit of taking that which is dead and giving it life (Ephesian 2:1ff).

He is the One that gave Sarah and Abraham the ability to have Isaac. Again, it is His plan that will be carried out in His way, not Abraham’s supplemental plan. God has a purpose and a plan for His chosen at all stages, and no, mankind cannot thwart that plan.

As for Ismael, he will be blessed. God tells Abraham this. Genesis 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. He is blessed because he is Abraham’s son. God does that as a favor to Abraham. The man will grow and twelve princes will come from him, and he will be a great nation.

Lest you put too much on this, as Muslims do, God immediately reiterates the fact that His covenant is with Isaac, not Ishmael. Genesis 17:21 But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.”

Also note, that when God initially tells Abraham of the coming child, He says that Sarah will be the mother of kings and many nations. Genesis 17:16 And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.” Whereas Ismael will father twelve princes and one nation, Sarah will be the mother of many nations and many kings, showing covenantal supremacy in God’s election of them.

Why is This Important?

For several reasons. First, we need to recognize that the claim by Muslims concerning Ishmael is wrong. While Ishmael is blessed, he is not of the chosen line of God. It is through the line of Isaac that the covenant blessings pass. No amount of revisionist history by Mohamed can change that. This is what God’s word says and we need to rest upon it. I point this out for a very important reason: as Christians, we need to know this truth and not be duped who say that Islam is a true religion of God as well. Just as the Samaritans were rejected because of their revisionist history, so too are those who are Islamic. In our day, we must stress that God worked through history to bring us Jesus Christ and He is the only way of salvation (Acts 4:12). No other religion will do, not Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, etc., etc., etc.

Second, this shows us that those outside of covenantal blessings are not completely ignored by God. He may not extend His eternal blessings to them by bringing them into the covenant, but He still blesses them in life. Ishmael was blessed by God. He had his good things in life. While he may or may not have believed, his offspring were not of the covenant. They eventually departed (Genesis 21:8ff), the covenant-keeping community. And there is no salvation apart from the covenant-keeping community. (That is another way of saying “the church.”)

Allen West Confronts Islam Head On

I found this an Neil’s site, and love it. Congressman Allen West was confronted by Nezar Hamze, the South Florida Chapter’s Executive Director of CAIR, in which Hamze said that West was taking Islamic principles out of context. You know the typical blather Islamists put forth: Islam is a religion of peace. West doesn’t put up with it. He turns the conversation around and shows how Islam has been so peaceful through the ages with their constant attacks on Christianity and the west, beginning long before the Crusades. Watch it. It will get your blood going.

West reminds me of Winston Churchill. Maybe we can get him to run for president in 2012 to set the record straight.

The War Against Christians

Clifford May, over at Townhall.com, has come out and said what many of us already know: there is a war in Muslim countries against Christians. This isn’t a metaphor type of war, but a real one, where the Christians get thrown in jail, have their churches burned down, killed and lose their jobs. Part of Clifford’s point is that if the same thing were happening in the United States, the United Kingdom or South America to Muslims, the news would be doing non-stop stories. However, those on the left really don’t won’t to wake up to the reality that persecution is alive and well today for the Christian.

May writes:

Now here’s what you don’t need to imagine because it is all too real: In recent days, Christian churches have been bombed in Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria and the Philippines. In Indonesia a mob of 1,000 Muslims burned down two Christian churches because, according to one commentator, local Islamic authorities determined there were “too many faithful and too many prayers.” In Iran, scores of Christians have been arrested. In Pakistan, a Christian woman received the death penalty for the “crime” of insulting Islam; the governor of Punjab promised to pardon her – and was then assassinated for the “crime” of blasphemy.

I could provide dozens more examples of the persecution and, in many cases, “cleansing” of Christians in what we have come to call the Muslim world. If the situation were reversed, if such a war were being waged against Muslims, it would be the top story in every newspaper, the most urgent item at the U.N., the highest priority of all the big-league human rights groups.

What we have instead is denial. I cited some of the above examples on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s “Power and Politics” program last week. In response, Professor Janice Stein of the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto insisted that these dots do not connect. The assassination of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, she said, should be viewed as the consequence of Pakistan’s “terrible distribution of wealth.” Class conflict, not religious extremism, she added, is the correct explanation for the tragedy.

I noted that five hundred Pakistani religious scholars not only justified the killing of Taseer, they praised his killer’s “courage” and religious zeal, and said he had made Muslims proud around the world. They warned that anyone attending Taseer’s funeral, praying for him or expressing grief over his death would deserve the same fate he suffered.

The assailant who gunned down Taseer – Mumtaz Qadri, one of his own bodyguards – exalted afterward: “I have killed a blasphemer!” He did not say: “I have killed a member of the bourgeoisie!”

Professor Stein spoke, too, of the “conflict” between Muslims and Christians in Egypt as though both were equally to blame when, in fact, it is clearly Egypt’s ancient but diminishing Coptic community that is under siege with little means to defend itself, much less to wage a campaign of reciprocal oppression.

What is sad is that if the MSM doesn’t wake up, then they will end up losing their precious First Amendment rights. For some odd reason, those on the Left in our country seem to think the enemy of freedom is always the Christian, not Islam. Never mind the fact that it was a bunch of Christians that helped found this country with recognized freedoms given to all men from God (not the government). If Islam has its way, those in the press would be silenced and the freedom they so cherish would vanish. (Just imagine what Sharia Law will do to the Gay community and you get the idea).

Yes, there is a war against Christians. What we must realize is that Islam, the Liberal and the MSM are allies in that war. Not that this should cause us to fret. The Victor has already won the battle over His enemies and reigns supreme at the right hand of the Father. Only He can bring about a change in the enemy’s heart. That is what we should pray for, the conversion of the heathen, both Islamic and Liberal.

Timothy’s Round Up

On the National Debt

Pat Buchanan has an eye-opening article about the probability of the 112th Congress being successful (success being understood as overturning all of Obama’s legislation). It will be an uphill battle. While they may not be able to repeal Obamacare outright, they can defund the beast. The last paragraph from Pat Buchanan on the Deficits this country faces is a classic:

As Boehner put it, we can’t kick the can up the road anymore, because we’ve come to the end of the road. Like Greece and Portugal, Ireland and Illinois, New York and New Jersey, we have arrived at Hotel California.

All the states mentioned are models of socialist policies and all either in bankruptcy or on the verge of it. I’m grateful John Boehner understand that and is willing to confront this reality.

Pakistani Peace?

Apparently, it’s OK to kill someone in Pakistan even if they just sympathize with a Christian charged with blasphemy laws. Jonah Goldberg explains how Governor Salman Taseer was gunned down by his own body guard because he sympathized with Asia Bibi, a woman accused of blasphemy. The bodyguard shot Taseer 40 times and the people of Pakistan cheered. Goldberg’s point is that Islam is not being taken over by radicals, it is radical. The moderates have long since been out of power. Any pretense of Islam being peaceful is gone when you begin to understand that the radicals have the keys to the cars and the bomb plants.

MSNBC Is Convinced It’s Viewers Have the Intelligence of Potato Salad

I found this over at Big Journalism by Jeff Dunetz. It’s a video on a reporter from MSNBC explaining the debt ceiling for those who apparently need the visual to figure it out. If this represents the average intelligence of the MSNBC viewer, we are in worse shape than I feared.

I love some of the comments made after this. One commenter writes:

I have conversed with my potato salad, and it is INFINITELY MORE INTELLIGENT than any of the 38 known MSNBC viewers of which my sister-in-law Caitlin (aka the stupidest woman in the western world) is one. And TOAST – even DRY TOAST – us FAR MORE ENGAGING than anything on MSNBC.

So much for the guys sister-in-law. And another:

PROGRESSIVE/SOCIALIST REASONING……

“My landlord to whom I owe much much money is going to have doubts about my ability to pay him back if he knocks on my door and finds that I am not home because I got off the couch and went back to work. Thus it would be better for me to remain home so that I may explain to him once again why I need more time to pay him.”

Example?? …..Joe Biden “we have to spend a whole lot of money to keep from going bankrupt”

PS. DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME FOLKS, These stunts are performed by professional idiots in an enclosed bubble called Washington DC~!

I love Biden’s reasoning…

Islamic Bilge “Peace Be Upon Him!” UPDATED

Recently I’ve had several Islamic bloggers hit my site and try to make claims on Christ. These Islamofascist tell me that the Quran also makes references to Jesus Christ, and that He is there greatest prophet. In one video that I listened to, it was quite annoying to listen to the cleric talks about the references to Christ in the Quran then make his mechanical statement: “peace be upon Him.”

This phrase is absolutely offensive. They say these words as if they could claim some level of righteousness by doing so, yet their actions as a religion and a people towards Christ’s followers are heinous. In other words, this false religion seeks to honor Jesus Christ with their trite statement “peace be upon Him,” all the while they will readily kill anyone who actually follows Christ, or converts from Islam to Christianity (see here for one example). Exactly how is putting Christ’s followers to death honoring to Him?

It reminds me of what Jesus said to the Pharisees:

Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
8 ‘ These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And[a]honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

For how can someone who is of Islam talk about peace being on Christ, and kill His people? Your words are hollow. After all Jesus also said: ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ So they are condemned by their own worthless words. If you want to honor Christ in any way, stop killing those for whom He died to save.

HERE are a few examples of Islamic peace being poured out on Christ.

Twenty One Christians killed outside of a church on January 1, as they exited a New Year’s Eve service. Read here.

At least 21 people were killed and scores were wounded on Saturday (Jan. 1) when a bomb planted outside a church in Alexandria, Egypt exploded as congregants were leaving a New Year’s Eve Mass celebration. The explosion ripped through the crowd shortly after midnight, killing instantly most of those who died, and leaving the entrance-way to the Church of the Two Saints, a Coptic Orthodox congregation, awash in blood. At least 90 other people were injured in the blast, 10 seriously. Among the injured were eight Muslims.

Witnesses said a driver parked a car at the entrance of the church and then ran away seconds before it exploded. Government officials have claimed they found remnants of the bomb, filled with nails and other make-shift shrapnel, at the site. No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but the attack comes two months after an Islamic group known as the Islamic State of Iraq issued a threat stating that, “All Christian centers, organizations and institutions, leaders and followers are legitimate targets for the muhajedeen [Muslim fighters] wherever they can reach them.”

Governor in Pakistan Gunned Down By Own Body Guards

The case of Asia Noreen, the first Christian woman sentenced to death in Pakistan on blasphemy charges, suffered a major setback when her most vocal supporter, the governor of Punjab Province, was gunned down by one of his police bodyguards this week (Jan. 4) in Islamabad.

The lives of Noreen and Gov. Salman Taseer were at risk since the day he, his wife and daughter visited her in jail on Nov. 22. Taseer had openly criticized the blasphemy statutes and vowed to try to repeal them in parliament. According to Compass News the bodyguard, Malik Mumtaz Hussein Qadri, told police that he killed Taseer because of the governor’s opposition to Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.

Taseer’s support for Noreen had given new hope to the impoverished mother of two children and step-mother to three others. “The governor’s visit gave us hope that all was not lost,” Sohail Johnson of Sharing Life Ministries Pakistan told Compass. “We believed that God had sent the governor to help us … his words of support boosted Noreen’s morale, and she was actually quite optimistic about the outcome of her appeal in the high court.” Noreen’s appeal of her conviction had yet to be taken up for hearing by the Lahore High Court, but that the murder would definitely affect the course of justice. “The governor’s brutal murder has diminished our hopes for justice for Noreen.”

Also along this line, the pastors of America need to start addressing this issue. It is our responsibility to protect the sheep given to us by the Good Shepherd. Our people need to understand the dangers of Islam and their claims on Christ (false that they are). I was reminded of this by Dr. Bill Warner at the Political Islam site, which is dedicated to informing Christians about the dangers of Islam. Dr. Warner writes:

If you ask a Christian leader why he does not speak out on Islam, you get some version of: My duty is to tend to my flock, to help them become better Christians. My job is not to oppose Islam.

What if a Christian leader actually took the advice to tend to his flock? Start with the image of tending the flock. This is a Christian image of Christ tending to the flock, the church, a warm pastoral image of lambs and no violence. Jesus is the Good Shepherd.

There is a common abbreviation, WWJD, what would Jesus do? This should be a living question in a Christian’s mind. An even more important question is: What did Jesus do? It turns out that we have detailed accounting of Jesus debating and criticizing religious leaders. Even a causal observation of the gospel accountings shows two things. Jesus knew more about the subject under debate than anyone in the room. He also stood up in public and private and confronted error, even against leadership.

What would it mean if a Christian leader tried to follow Christ’s example of knowing the subject? It would mean that the leader would know the Koran and the Sunna of Mohammed. He would be able to comment on the great themes of the Koran and know it as a story. He would know the Sira, the life of Mohammed, and have detailed knowledge of the Hadith. He would know the history of the Christian dhimmi. He would know what happened to the Seven Churches of Asia mentioned in Revelation. He would know how Egypt, Turkey, North Africa, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon all went from being Christian to Islamic. This is not difficult work for a scholar. It can be done in six months with present books. Just reading Mark Durie and Bat Ye’or’s The Third Choice, would give them a running start. He would know more than 90% of all Christian leaders.

Once you get your knowledge, you need one more quality, courage. A leader would stand in public and discuss the truth of the facts of Islam. According to political correctness and multiculturalism, that would not be nice, since someone might disapprove or become upset. Nice people do not confront others. That is not nice. The modern Christian prefers the Gospel of Nice to the Gospel of Christ. As a result of the Gospel of Nice, the Christian leader does not need courage.

Does tending the flock include being able to give fact-based advice to the Christian woman who comes to him and asks if it all right to marry a Muslim? Tending the flock would mean knowing the doctrine of wife-beating found in the Sharia, Koran and Hadith. The nice thing to do is saying, “Sure marry the Muslim. We worship the same god.” That is nice, but it is a lie. That nice lie is the one that many shepherds have given their flock.

Tending the flock would mean being able to teach a Christian who is flirting with Islam the truth about Islamic doctrine. But if the leader is ignorant, how can they refute Islamic arguments for the Christian to convert?

What if the flock extended beyond the limits of the boundaries of the church building? Tending the flock would include the suffering of Christians in Africa and the Middle East. A good Shepherd would tell of the murder, rape and abuse perpetrated by Islam to Christians on a daily basis.

Would the idea of a larger flock mean inviting persecuted Christians to speak to the congregation? Should the persecuted be recognized and prayed for at church? The current nice policy is to never mention the martyrs or the oppression of the Christians in Muslim countries.

The Black Church is hemorrhaging young males to Islam. If tending the flock meant seeing the flock large enough to include the black church, then a true Shepherd would be able to give guidance to the black leaders and educate them about the cruel Islamic doctrine of slavery still in existence. Tending the flock would include the story of Mohammed as a retail and wholesale slave trader, a man who owned white slaves, Arab slaves, black slaves, and sex slaves. The wise Shepherd would tell the story of how Islam enslaved a million white Christians and murdered 120 million Africans in the process of running the Islamic slave trade on the Mediterranean coast, the east and west coast of Africa. Of course, talking about Islam and slavery is not nice. And besides, it would marginalize all that white guilt about slavery in America. The Christian leader can bemoan that history and wallow in guilt, since that is considered nice. But to talk about the 1400 year old Islamic slave trade active in Africa today would require both knowledge and courage, and that is not nice.

A Christian leader would be able to see that the Great Commission of preaching the gospel would include converting Muslims to Christianity, increasing their flock. Preaching the Gospel to Muslims may be in the Gospel of Christ, but it is excluded from the Gospel of Nice. As a result, Christian leaders avoid the Great Commission when it comes to Islam in the West.

We will never defeat Political Islam as long as our Christian leaders see their job as being nice. Some of Islam’s biggest supporters are our ignorant religious leaders. Although this article has focused on Christian leaders, let be a public record that Christian leaders are ahead of Jewish leadership. If Christian leadership is tragic, then Jewish leadership is pathetic.

A piece of advice to Christian leaders: be a real shepherd, don’t just be nurturing and caring, but be a defender of the flock as well. Stop being nice. Be like the Good Shepherd, be wise, and be courageous.

You might want to send a copy of that to your pastor. He is responsible for you and the rest of the congregation and needs to be about the business of warning the church as best he can. I know the task seems insurmountable at times, but we are not left without help from the Helper.
