Famous Atheist’s Brother is a Professing Christian

I found this via Andy Webb on Facebook. It’s the wonderful article of Peter Hitchens, the less-known brother of Peter Hitchens, the atheist. The article gives his testimony of how he came back to Christ, after running for years. It also shows the long-standing feud that he and his brother had, even before Peter became a Christian.
Here are few quotes from the article:
Why is there such a fury against religion now? Because religion is the one reliable force that stands in the way of the power of the strong over the weak. The one reliable force that forms the foundation of the concept of the rule of law.

The one reliable force that restrains the hand of the man of power. In an age of powerworship, the Christian religion has become the principal obstacle to the desire of earthly utopians for absolute power.

Union University

(I’m republishing this post to go along with the testimony from Julie.)

I’ve wanted to do a post on the tornado that his Union University and Jackson, TN, since it hit on the 5th, but haven’t known exactly how to do it or what to say. Both Beth and I love Jackson, TN. We lived there before coming to South Carolina, and fell in love with the city and the people, especially those at Grace Presbyterian Church, pastored by Grover Gunn. When we heard about the tornado, we had immediate concerns. The beauty is that God really had his hand on Jackson that day. While most of Union University was hit by the tornado, and more than 500 homes lost their roofs, no one was killed. About 50 people sustained minor injuries. When you view the video below, you will see how remarkable that really was. The only explanation that can be given is that God sustained all those hit by the tornado in Jackson.
