Wow, it’s only been nine days since my last Global Warming Update, and here we have another update on the warming of the globe: Threat of Man-made Global Warming Exaggerated. Who could have believed that those lofty scientists would skew so much data to get the government moving in an anti-capitalist way are now being seen for what they are? Basically liars so that they could gain some attention, funding and a false sense of power.
It has been a while since I did a Global Warming Update. Remember when this blog was started some six years ago, we were all supposed to be on our way to complete global destruction according to Al Gore, who… invented the internet. Ahem. But it doesn’t seem like this is going to be the case after all. As more light was shed on the reports used to support the idea of global warming, it was discovered that scientists had actually altered data for that report. This was a big scandal in the scientific community because we know that scientist never have agendas they are trying to push, they are simply looking at the fact and putting for theories that get them noticed…
Again, more truth coming out against those global-warming alarmist…Remember those pictures of polar bears on glaciers that were dying because there was no longer any ice at the north pole, thereby showing us how wicked we were for destroying the planet?
Seems the main research to make those claims is being investigated for the integrity of his report.
A leading climate scientist whose report in 2006 of drowning polar bears in Arctic waters galvanized the global warming movement — and was highlighted in Al Gore’s Oscar-winning climate-change documentary — has been suspended, possibly over the accuracy of his observations.
Charles Monnett — who manages as much as $50 million worth of climate research on Arctic wildlife and ecology — was told on July 18 that he was being put on leave pending an investigation into “integrity issues,” according to a letter posted online by the advocacy group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), which is questioning Monnett’s suspension.
It doesn’t take a scientist to see that there is a great deal at stake here for the scientist. He has $50 million in research fund to handle. That is a lot of money to be lost, and he should lose his job if the allegations are proven to be true. What is even more interesting is the actual account that led to the false belief that polar bears were dying due to a lack of ice.
Michael Browich, the director of BOEMRE, told his staff by email Friday that the suspension was unrelated to the 2006, AP reported, though he would not clarify what information the group sought. Documents provided by PEER seem to contradict that.
They indicate investigators are focusing on observations that Monnett and fellow researcher Jeffrey Gleason made in 2004, while conducting an aerial survey of bowhead whales. The report said they observed four dead polar bears floating in Arctic waters after a storm. They detailed their observations in an article published two years later in the journal Polar Biology; presentations also were given at scientific gatherings.
In the peer-reviewed article, the researchers said they were reporting, to the best of their knowledge, the first observations of polar bears floating dead offshore and presumed drowned while apparently swimming long distances in open water — suggesting “that drowning-related deaths of polar bears may increase in the future if the observed trend of regression of pack ice and/or longer open water periods continues.”
The article and presentations drew national attention and helped make the polar bear something of a poster child for the global warming movement. Al Gore’s mention of the polar bear in his documentary on climate change, “An Inconvenient Truth,” came up during investigators’ questioning of Gleason in January.
In May 2008, the U.S. classified the polar bear as a threatened species, the first with its survival at risk due to global warming.
According to a transcription of a February 23 interview, investigator Eric May asked Gleason his thoughts on Gore referencing the dead polar bears. Gleason said none of the polar bear papers he has written or co-authored has said “anything really” about global warming.
If that is the case, he should have stepped up and confronted Al Gore on the assumptions Gore made. Yes, Gore made a lot of assumptions. Please allow me to say… this really is an inconvenient truth for the global-warming crowd.

It has been a long time since I’ve done a global warming update. I think that is because it’s slowly becoming realized that these global-warming alarmist are nothing more than… anti-capitalist disguised as environmentalist. (Was that a redundancy?) My point has always been that God, the omniscient God of the universe, had designed the planet to handle all the carbon dioxide emissions man can produce. He knew that we would have SUV’s some day and designed the planet to handle it. The latest study from NASA is proving that the earth is doing just that concerning the warming of the planet:
NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth’s atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.
Study co-author Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite, reports that real-world data from NASA’s Terra satellite contradict multiple assumptions fed into alarmist computer models.
“The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show,” Spencer said in a July 26 University of Alabama press release. “There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans.”
In addition to finding that far less heat is being trapped than alarmist computer models have predicted, the NASA satellite data show the atmosphere begins shedding heat into space long before United Nations computer models predicted.
The new findings are extremely important and should dramatically alter the global warming debate.
Scientists on all sides of the global warming debate are in general agreement about how much heat is being directly trapped by human emissions of carbon dioxide (the answer is “not much”). However, the single most important issue in the global warming debate is whether carbon dioxide emissions will indirectly trap far more heat by causing large increases in atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds. Alarmist computer models assume human carbon dioxide emissions indirectly cause substantial increases in atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds (each of which are very effective at trapping heat), but real-world data have long shown that carbon dioxide emissions are not causing as much atmospheric humidity and cirrus clouds as the alarmist computer models have predicted.
The point being that the more we know about the planet, the more we see God’s wonderful design. Not that we should abuse the planet. I never argue for that. We are to be good stewards of all that God has given us. I just don’t buy into the argument that we can destroy the planet. That is God’s job, and it’s called judgment day. Until then, the planet will keep on rolling through space just as God designed it to do.
Al Gore is still at it. He is trying to convince us that global warming is a real problem we must face today. His new tactic, like all those who still believe in this man-made religion, is that global warming is causing all of this extreme cold weather.
Remember, man-made global warming was also the cause of all the heat waves that we have experienced in the past 10 years, along with both the presence of hurricanes and the absence of hurricanes. Global warming advocates also feel that the presence of rain and the absence of rain is caused by man-made global warming. They are basically saying that if we have bad weather, or good weather, it is a result of man-made global warming.
This is what one should expect from those who deny the living and true God. AS Romans 1 indicates, they tend to replace the true God with a god of their own making, i.e., god of global warming, whom we must appease by taxing industry and banning the use of SUVs. (Who says the mythology of the Greeks no longer exist?)
The point is that Al Gore is a real dunderhead in his persistence of claiming bad weather is the result of man-made global warming. You can read about it here, where you will also find true climatologist commenting on the problem. Here is what the real scientist are saying:
“Gore’s statement actually indicates a deeper problem — lack of precise predictions,” said Dr. William M. Briggs, a statistician and climate scientist. His research shows that there are no increased weather problems because of global warming, Briggs told FoxNews.com.
“He’s saying that anything bad that happens must be because global warming caused it. Activists like Gore are great at identifying events after the fact as being caused by global warming, but terrible at predicting them beforehand,” Briggs said.
Meteorologist Art Horn agreed, noting the extensive history of devastating weather over the millennia — none of which he connects with global warming.
“If one actually studies the history of weather over the last 2,000 years, you see massive storms, amazing heat, brutal cold waves, devastating droughts, terrible floods and disastrous hurricanes — none caused by global warming,” he told FoxNews.com.
Al Gore wrote an article for the New York Time’s saying that while he made some mistakes, global warming was still real and that all this snow and cold weather was a result of global warming. Here is what one columnist had to say about his reappearance:
If hyperbole and chutzpah had a child, it would be the opening paragraph of Gore’s op-ed in Sunday’s New York Times. Gore surfaced from the global warming witness-protection program to opine that despite admissions of error and evidence of fraud by various agencies, we still face “an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.”
Perhaps he’s trying to protect his investments as he knows them, for he is heavily involved in enterprises that deal with carbon offsets and green technology. If the case for climate change is shown to be demonstrably false, a lot of his green evaporates like moisture from the ocean.
Interestingly, it’s that moisture from the ocean that he uses to defend his failed hypothesis. The blizzards that have buried the Northeast, he writes, are proof of global warming because record evaporation due to warming is what produces record snows. Except that supporters of his theory not long ago argued exactly the opposite.
Follow the money when it comes to Al Gore. He’s not all that interested in the planet. He just wants more money so he can increase his own carbon footprint. That alone should cause everyone to be skeptical of this fraud. Gore should be tried for fraud… and now murder.
Did you hear about the couple that had a suicide pack because of global warming? They killed their children and themselves over the fraud that Gore has perpetrated. One of the babies actually survived. Read about here. This is truly sad. Gore, and his accomplices in the press, have generated so much fear over this fraud that one couple could no longer handle it and committed suicide. I really believe the best thing for all of us is to turn off the mainstream-media. They don’t care about what is true, but what sells their product. Gore and the press both wear the same harlot’s clothing.
Hey Mike. This is John from Republicus at Arlingtonian.blogspot.com. Just want to tip my hat to you. You’ve been ahead of the curve on the Global Warming scam. Here is what you commented at my blog in March of ’07:
“They’ve erected this massive fraud to first convince themselves that immediate action (according to their socialist principles of wealth and energy control) is necessary and then concocted this slick PR scheme to frighten the rest of us to death.”
A new study shows that our reluctance to develop domestic energy will cost the beleaguered U.S. economy trillions in opportunity costs, reduce our gross domestic product and increase our trade deficit.
From trying to stimulate jobs in nonexistent ZIP codes at great expense to worshiping the false gods of climate change, our biggest deficit these days may be in the area of common sense. A new study shows that many of our wounds are self-inflicted as we forgo the wealth and jobs to be found in our waters and under our feet.
The study by Science Applications International Corp. at the request of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, the Gas Technology Institute and others shows the U.S. economy will suffer $2.3 trillion in lost opportunity costs over the next two decades, monies that would go a long way to reining in runaway deficits and creating economic growth.
Patrick J. Michaels, senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute and state climatologist for Virginia for 27 years, disagrees. “Global warming simply hasn’t done a darned thing to Washington’s snow,” he wrote on National Review, adding that “if you plot out year-to-year snow around here, you’ll see no trend whatsoever through the entire history.”
Politicians are jumping on the bandwagon, too. “It’s going to keep snowing in DC until Al Gore cries ‘uncle,’” tweeted Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C.
Global warming advocates feel under attack as skeptics use the record-setting snowstorms — and the recent discoveries of errors in the U.N.’s climate science study, a growing scandal called climate-gate — to question the theory that climate change is a manmade problem.
But some skeptics say the science isn’t that innocent, even though they acknowledge global warming as a measurable anomaly. “As climate change critics, we’re not denying an increase in temperature,” says Dan Miller, publisher of the Heartland Institute, a group that favors free-market solutions to public policy problems. “We’re skeptical of the crisis level and the cause.”
Miller says climate-change scientists have a conflict of interest, as many stand to receive “a huge amount of money” from the government to support continued research. “There is no upper limit of money at stake,” he warns.
Conversely, Miller says his firm is impartial, having no financial investment in climate change; it would lose a mere 4 percent of its funding if it ends up on the wrong side of the debate. “There’s no money at stake for critics,” he points out.

This comic has been there for a while, but makes a wonderful point. Stand for something that is righteous in the midst of something satisfies our fleshly desires, and it will seem offensive to us. I do love football. Yet, in honesty, we must come to the reason for this: it appeals to our fleshly desires to dominate. It’s appealing to see the arch enemy quarterback getting nailed by OUR defensive lineman. It’s a fleshly desire and does nothing for us spiritually. Think about how the physical nature of the game is played out. You will not find the fruits of the Spirit in football. Even our great quarterbacks, like Bret Favre, failed to put others first in his desire to be the Saints. He wanted the glory for himself.
Couric is Getting Her Due
In a wonderful story that is developing over at the Drudge Report, Katie Couric is getting her due. All those who work with her are beginning to complain about her $14 million a year salary, as CBS lays off more employees. O the sweetness of this. Her fellow workers are enraged that she makes so much much when their friends are getting the boot. This is the same media group that complains about the high salaries of bank executives, etc. So she should have to give some back as well.
The sad aspect of this is that Dan Rather is asking Obama to save the news industry. May it never be. They get what they deserve.
No Duh! Abstinence Works
There is a new study being reported on by IBD Editorials that abstinence only programs… ahem… actually work. The report shows that those in these type of programs were far less likely to become sexually active than those in the typical sex ed class.
The study’s findings, published in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, were based on an experiment involving 662 black grade-school students who were mostly 12 years old. They were divided into three groups, one of which took a program discouraging sexual activity, another that took one teaching safe sex, and a third longer-instruction program that used both approaches.
During the following two years, only 33% of those in the abstinence-only program had become sexually active. About 42% of those attending the mixed or “comprehensive” instruction became active. And most — 52% — of those who took the safe-sex-only course had engaged in sexual activity.
Walter Williams shows the continual demise of the global warming movement in his latest column. He writes:
The Coleman documentary presents research by computer expert E. Michael Smith and Certified Consulting Meteorologist Joseph D’Aleo. During the 1960s and into the 1980s, the number of stations used for calculating global surface temperatures was about 6,000. By 1990, the number of stations dropped rapidly to about 1,500. Most of the stations lost were in the colder regions of the Earth. Not adjusting for their lost made temperatures appear to be higher than was in fact the case. According to Science & Environmental Policy Project, Russia reported that CRU was ignoring data from colder regions of Russia, even though these stations were still reporting data. That means data loss was not simply the result of station closings but deliberate decisions by CRU to ignore them in order to hype their global warming claims. D’Aleo and Smith report that our NCDC engaged in similar deceptive activity where they have dropped stations, particularly in colder climates, higher elevations or closer to the polar regions. Temperatures are now simply projected for these colder stations from other stations, usually in warmer climates.
But he warns that despite the evidence of the fraud, GW hysteria will not go away.
Mounting evidence of scientific fraud might make little difference in terms of the response to manmade global warming hysteria. Why? Vested economic and political interests have emerged where trillions of dollars and social control are at stake. Therefore, many people who recognize the scientific fraud underlying global warming claims are likely to defend it anyway. Automobile companies have invested billions in research and investment in producing “green cars.” General Electric and Phillips have spent millions lobbying Congress to outlaw incandescent bulbs so that they can force us to buy costly compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL). Farmers and ethanol manufacturers have gotten Congress to enact laws mandating greater use of their product, not to mention massive subsidies. Thousands of major corporations around the world have taken steps to reduce carbon emissions including giants like IBM, Nike, Coca-Cola and BP, the oil giant. Companies like Google, Yahoo and Dell have vowed to become “carbon neutral.”
Can you say: “Follow the money?”
As we were walking up and down the street, the boys would discover something new and we would have to stop and look at it. Saturday afternoon they discovered ice sickles hanging from our neighbors house. The neighbor came out and we got to talking about all the snow. Apparently, the 8 inches we received on Friday wasn’t nearly as much as this area had last year. They had a full 13 inches last year.
We got to talking about Al Gore and global warming. She laughs at him because he has become such a fool. I even reminded her what God said about the seasons. He set the seasons in motion and said they would not cease (Genesis 8:22). This is why I don’t believe in global warming, or climate change as they are now trying to call it. God is the One who set all the seasons in motion and He promised us that it would never cease. So to say that we were going to have an eternal summer, as Gore was saying, is to go against God and what He has said.
Yes, I know all the scientist kept trying to confirm the data that supported this view. After all, it was consensus (which is not science). Now we have learned that much of the data was skewed in order to support the theory. What gets me is that people are still trying to support the notion of global warming/climate change. What bothers me more is when Christians try and support it, trying to be enlightened or acceptable to the GW crowd.
They are so busy trying to impress this GW crowd that they forget God’s word. God’s word is authoritative. I know that it is not a science book. But it still speaks to creation because it speaks of the Creator. He has told us He made the world, the heavens and everything in them and He gave all of creation order. Summer will follow spring, spring will follow winter, winter will follow fall, and fall will follow summer. That is the order that He put into motion and there is nothing piddly man can do to change that order. To think that we can is to delude ourselves into thinking we are gods. Yes, Al Gore probably does think he is a god, but mankind is not. We do not know more than the Creator. We cannot predict the future, or the future of the weather. Heck, most climatologist can barely predict weather for the week, much less for the next 20 to 30 years.
All of this GW stuff could have been avoided if we would just use “common sense.” The very sense that the GW crowd accuses us of avoiding. The sad reality is that the GW crowd are literally fools. They lack true wisdom for they deny God and His place in all things. Only by viewing the world, the data collected through the lens of the Creator will we have true knowledge. Otherwise, it will degenerate into a religion of myths and fables.
Please don’t feel sorry for the high priest Al Gore. He has made billions off the scam. He has his riches. But don’t be fooled by him either.
As for our snow day, it has turned into a snow weekend, and a snow Monday. No, we didn’t get any more snow. But all the snow keeps melting during the day, freezing at night, making the roads dangerous. So school was canceled for Friday and Monday, and church was canceled yesterday. It’s been a long weekend for us here.
Now, where is that carrot.
PS I took that picture yesterday. It one of the roads in my neighborhood.
