The Libya Question and Random Thoughts

The Libya Question – I was speaking with a man yesterday who’s son is a Naval officer in charge of providing security overseas for our diplomats and dignitaries when they go overseas. The man told me the Navy had a rescue team ready to go into Libya to rescue the ambassador before the ambassador’s death. The U.S. Navy was completely aware that the attack was imminent and were making preparations to intervene and provide aid to the ambassador. They were never given the green light to provide that aid. Seems like if the Navy knew it was a terrorist attack and was ready to provide aid, that the White House should have known as well. But that would have required Obama to leave the campaign trail and actually attend daily intelligence briefings.

Governor Susana Martinez – The county Republicans contacted our church last week to see if they could use our parking lot for get-out-the-vote rally. We gladly granted them permission.

Because of this, Governor Susana Martinez will be arriving here on Saturday and hanging out in the church before the rally. It looks like I will get an opportunity to meet her. I posted her speech from the Republican National Convention here.

Voting Democrat? Is there any justification ever for a Christian to vote Democrat? Democrats are on record as the party of death. They love to kill children in the womb, and now it appears that Obamacare has death panels. Whenever you ration healthcare, that is the end result as a study out of the United Kingdom is now showing. Hattip: Neil.

TaylorMade Golf Clubs — I Googled golf clubs about three weeks ago. Now every page I visit on the web, even with my computer at home, has a Taylormade Golf club ad. Don’t think for a moment that Google isn’t tracking our googles.

Binder-gate? Not sure I understand the left’s attempt to make a deal out of Romney’s binder comment. But alas, when you are desperate, you will grasp at anything.

Obama Approves of Grumpy Old Biden

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh yesterday after the VP debate and he pointed out that what we saw of Joe Biden is exactly what the Democratic Party has become. For those of you who didn’t watch the debate, Biden came across as mean, grumpy, condescending, arrogant, aloof, and seemed to make light of some serious issues by laughing all the time. The entire performance angered quite a few people and most have seen Biden and the Democratic Party for what they are.

The news this morning is seeing that Obama approved of Biden’s behavior. He thought Biden did an excellent point. Obama said:

“I’m going to make a special point of saying that I thought Joe Biden was terrific tonight,” Obama said as he descended Air Force One, according to a media pool report. “I could not be prouder of him. I thought he made a very strong case. I really think that his passion for making sure that the economy grows for the middle class came through. So I’m very proud of him.”

He proved Rush’s point. If Obama is proud of Biden, then this is who they are and they are proud of it. They don’t mind being arrogant and condescending. They dont’ mind looking down on America and ruling from on high. They truly do think they are the smartest people in the room.

I truly do hope and pray that God spares us from another four years of this Administration. If Obama and Biden get reelected, I don’t think there will be another election in U.S. for president because I don’t think the U.S. will survive intact. It will end up going the way of the Soviet Union.

The Difference between Romney-Ryan and Obama-Biden in Six Minutes And a Glimpse of Paul Ryan

This video helps illustrate the difference between Romney-Ryan and Obama-Biden. The latter is about spending, growing government, hiding the truth about spending and growing the government and burdening the people. Romney-Ryan are about solutions, but not by growing the government and giving it more power. Watch and learn:

I am surprised by this pick because Ryan wasn’t on my radar. But when it comes to fiscal responsibility Ryan is definitely a great choice. Since this is what the country needs, and if Romney uses him in this way, he could really help get the country back on track fiscally.

Now… if there was a pick to help us get back on track morally.

Here is what Paul Ryan said in his acceptance speech, according to Townhall.com, which shows they are willing to take on Obama directly.

“America is a place where if you work hard, and play by the rules, you can get ahead……. We look at one another’s success with pride, not resentment. Because we know as more Americans works hard, take risks, succeed, more prosper,” Ryan said. ““We promised equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.”

Here is presentation Paul Ryan makes for the budget back in 2011. This gives you an idea of what is at stake concerning our fiscal future in this country, and an idea of what Ryan’s plan would do. There are three parts to it.

Allen West on Obama’s Disparaging Comments About Small Businesses

The uproar over Obama’s remarks concerning small businesses continues to proceed. I wrote about it yesterday. Hopefully, this will help wake up America from running on auto-pilot so that they see the need to turn this president out of office.

Leave it to Allen West to put it succinctly:

By the President’s logic, you have not earned your success and only government has made your success possible. Therefore, government should be able to decide what fruits of your success you get to keep. That’s why the President’s campaign is based entirely on class warfare, demonizing successful Americans and redistributing wealth. President Obama’s policies haven’t just failed, they are dangerous. The President will only continue to make matters worse for Americans of all incomes, ages, gender, race and religion. Watch and share this video.

I hope West gets the VP nod. He would be a great addition to the Romney campaign. I understand that Romney may be announcing his VP soon. It will take the attention off the current lie of the day coming from our president about how Romney is a felon because Romney left Bain Capital when Obama says so, not when Romney, the Security and Exchanges Commission or the Washington Post says so. In other words, the liar and chief is going to repeat this lie so many times that the people, who given no thought at all, will think it is the truth.

It is not as if those records by the SEC are not open, unlike Obama’s income tax returns, documents concerning Fast and Furious, his college transcripts, and anything else of interest concerning Mr. President. Remember, he said his administration would be the most open administration in history, but he continues to keep every thing closed. He lied again.

Roundup that Matters

Lifeway Chrisitan Bookstores

A lot of things going on this week that are worth looking into. The first is the debacle that surrounds Lifeway Christian Bookstores. For those of you who know me, it comes as no surprise that I can’t stand Christian Bookstores. Those in the Christian publishing industry know what a farce they are in their continue publication of cotton-candy theology and the mass produced Jesus junk they sell for a profit. Every time I go into one of these stores, I come out completely discouraged because the stuff the put forth is nothing more than Leave It to Beaver Humanism with a dash of Christianity to boot.

What has brought Lifeway Christian Bookstores to the forefront is that the Southern Baptist Convention had them pull all their copies of the movie “The Blind Side,” because some baptist pastor didn’t like that fact that the movie had some cussing it. If this is the case, then that pastor will have to rip Philippians 3:8 from the Bible, since the word that we translate as “rubbish” could also be used as a much harsher form of the word dung. There are also other places in Scripture, especially the Old Testament, where prophets used harsh profanity in describing the enemies of God.

The point is that life is full of people who cuss. We are to strive for a purity of language, but that comes through the Holy Spirit working in our lives, not taking good movies off the book shelves.

Rachel Held Evans has more on this at her blog site. She writes:

Christian bookstores have developed a reputation for producing a highly sanitized customer experience, purging from their shelves any language, content, or theology that doesn’t meet their uber-conservative standards.  Walk into your local LifeWay and you will find plenty of Precious Moments statues, specialty Bibles, Veggie Tale movies, and Thomas Kinkade prints…but little trace of art or literature that intrigues, agitates, and inspires—as true art should!  The Christian bookstore experience is, in a word, safe. Butsafe is not how Christians are called to live, and safe is not what artists who are Christians are called to create.  In fact, based on LifeWay’s own standards, the Bible itself—which includes profanity, violence, and sex—should be banned from the shelves.

What most people don’t realize, however, is that the problem of sanitized Christian bookstores extends far beyond the inventory on the shelves to create an entire Christian subculture that is so sanitized and safe it often fails to produce art that is relevant to our culture or our lives.

Now I’m going to say something that will probably get me into some trouble, something that many editors and writers are afraid to say for fear of losing their jobs or their book contracts, but something which desperately needs to be spoken out loud:  Christian bookstores have a chokehold on the Christian publishing industry.  And this chokehold not only affects the inventory you find on Christian bookstore shelves, but which books are contracted by publishers, what content gets edited in the writing and editing process, and the degree of freedom authors feel they have to speak on their own blogs and platforms.  As a result, the entire Christian industry has been sanitized, while its best artists look elsewhere for publication.

Emphasis is hers. See the rest of her post here, but be forewarned, she uses some harsh language to drive home her points.

Obama Continues to Lie

Guy Benson, at Townhall.com has an excellent piece showing that the Obama Campaign is dead set on lying about Romney and his time at Bain Capital. It seems Team Obama are set on employing the Marxist Maxim that if you repeat a lie enough times, it becomes the truth, which is a lie in and of itself. But when you have punted any pretense of being truthful and honest, as Obama has done, then the little things do not matter, such as being truthful. I hope and pray that the people of this country see through it and withhold their votes for the man.

Benson writes:

The Obama campaign’s dishonest attack ads portraying Mitt Romney as a “corporate raider” and a “pioneer” of shipping American jobs overseas have been debunked by multiple independent fact checkers.  WaPo called the first such spot “misleading, unfair and untrue,” and FactCheck.org found “no evidence” to support Obama’s allegations.  Undeterred by facts and unconstrained by truth, Chicago has produced a second ad on the very same subject, repeating the very same discredited claims.  An NBC News affiliate in Florida examined the new spot and reached the same conclusion as the other truth-seeking entities: The ad is “false.”

The end result of hope and change:

Allen West on Hannity:

I really like what Allen West has to say on the economy and especially his enemies. He really doesn’t care what his enemies say about him. He is committed to the truth and doesn’t chase after the false-notion that he has to curb his speech in order to get the left to like him. We need more men like Allen West in politics.

Roundup That Matters

Pastor Ken Hutcherson is gay — although he is not a homosexual. The Hutch, as he is known to conservatives who listen to Rush Limbaugh, is campaigning to take back the word “gay” from the gay community just at he fights to bring back the rainbow as a sign of God’s love towards mankind. The rainbow is a sign telling us that God will never destroy the earth with a flood again, not a sign that it’s OK to be a sodomite.

Hutch says:

“My frustration is that some groups have taken words and symbols away from the Church and from society in general. When I say I’m ‘gay,’ what I mean is that I am happy, that I am joyful and that I love people. That is precisely what a Christian ought to be so in my opinion we just need to be as gay as we can.”

“Dan Savage (a pro-gay activist) says he is gay. He’s not gay, not anywhere close. Yeah, he may be a homosexual but he certainly doesn’t appear to be happy or joyful when he stands up in front of a classroom and uses profane language. Nope, nothing gay about that.”

Hutch on gay marriage:

A good article against homosexuality — via Kathy at Neil’s blog. This article uses sound logic to dispel the gay-gene argument, something we have done here on occasion. Be sure to read Neil’s post on exposing Tony Campolo for the false teacher that he is.

Another STOOPID Church Sign — you know my hatred of church signs, since most of them are truly thoughtless. Here is one from the liberals in the church, thinking they are making some great stand for a loving attitude.

The problem is, as Ed pointed out on Facebook, the hateful Christian will be forgiven, the atheists will not. But also allow me to add that what we are faced with today is not more hateful Christians, but more hateful atheists. The new atheists isn’t interested in just denying God and living his own life in peace. He is purposefully seeking to rid culture, community and our country of anything and everything religions. Pastor Tom Tate may think he is making inroads with the atheists by putting up such a sign. However, the new atheists of this day want to run foolish Tom out of business as well.

The 10 Warning Signs of an Inwardly Obsessed Church — great article by Thom S. Rainer about church becoming to inwardly focused.

A Better Life For Julia — You may have heard of Obama’s plan to raise our children for us, from cradle to grave. The Heritage Foundation shows a better way through conservatism. Both Neil and Roxanne have excellent pieces on this one. Roxanne writes:

For those of you wondering, “Who the heck is Julia?!?”, she’s a composite of Obama’s girlfriends a fictional character who subsists on Nanny State handouts for her entire life.  From birth until retirement, Julia gets goodies from the government, which is allegedly preferential to a Mitt Romney world.

Suitably Flip made a “Life of Julie,” which shows how someone can prosper under Mitt Romney – or suffer under Obama.   It starts off with, “Julie arrives on-time to preschool every day, thanks to the trusty, affordable internal combustion engine in her parents’ car.”

Instapundit asks the question we are all asking: where is Julia’s husband? Sarcastic Roxe answers: earning money to give to women via the government, which is apparently “not being dependent upon a man.”

Also go to the link provided for the Heritage Foundation that counters the Obama article.

My question for Obama: “why do you assume we WANT to put our children in the failing Head Start program?” That is my point against what he offers, why are we supposed to assume it’s better for us simply because we put it forth. Obama, a man from a third-world country, trying so hard to turn us into a third-world country. After all, he is seeking “fairness.”

Pastor Rick Warren Takes a Stand: Will You?

I’m not a fan of Rick Warren, his church or his methods, but I have to admire him for standing strong in the face of Obama’s encroachment of our Christian beliefs. For those of you who do not know, the Obama administration has mandated that all Christian organizations must provide healthcare to their employees that includes paying for abortions. This mandate violates the conscience of those of us who believe that abortion is murder, and therefore violates the First Amendment. Many Catholics have already started standing up to this tyranny by the Obama Administration, so far, to no avail. The Administration has basically said that we have a year to figure out how to violate our own consciouses so that we can comply with the mandate. Thank you King Obama for such grace in the matter.

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in California and the man who prayed for Obama at the king’s coronation, has come out in a stand against his majesty. Warren sent the following twitter earlier in the week:

“I’m not a Catholic but I stand in 100% solidarity with my brothers & sisters to practice their belief against govt pressure,” Warren said. “I’d go to jail rather than cave in to a govement mandate that violates what God commands us to do. Would you? Acts 5:29.”

I like his boldness. I like the question that he asks at the end. Are we willing, as Christians, to give up our freedom in order to stand for the innocent of this country, and to stand against they tyranny of our current dictator? Are we willing to lose our access to Facebook, and Angry Birds in order to stand for what we believe in? Are we truly willing to suffer the sake of righteousness?

Sometimes I wonder about our country along these lines, especially the church in our country. The church is dreadfully weak because we have been so focused upon living the good life that we forget that sometimes Christ calls us to the cross before He shares His glory with us. I know that many do not like to think about such things, but it could be that Our LORD is calling us to stand up an fight against such tyrants like Obama, who trample on the Constitution daily, and promote the whole-sale slaughter of innocent children.

We need more men to stand up in face of King Obama and tell him enough is enough. He thinks he is right in telling us that we need to get over our consciences, but he need to get over his tyranny and return to being  a president with limited powers. It’s time to tell him that we didn’t elect a dictator or potentate, but a president that cannot do as he pleases.

This may mean we spend time in jail when the tyrant throws a fit. I hope Warren is ready to do so, and many more. It’s time to say enough! “Your tyranny was dealt with once in the 1700s with another king, we will deal with you in the same way.” Otherwise, we should accept the coronation as it was given back in 2008, and go back to playing Angry Birds.

“O Lord, Jesus Christ, may we not fail You in the challenges before us!”

Roundup That Matters

Responding to a TYPICAL Pro-Gay Theology Argument — Neil has a good break down of the typical response by those who are pro-gay. The argument goes that the person doesn’t want to be judgmental, even though they are being judgmental, and that they have nice friends who are gay, and that they just want what is best for those people and that perhaps they are born that way and God loves them anyway.

My response is that I do believe that gay people are born that way. It’s called original sin. We are all born sinners. This doesn’t mean we get a pass for our particular sin, be they gay, straight, etc. We are all born condemned and under God’s wrath. This is why Paul stresses the fact that believers were under God’s wrath and children of wrath before we were saved. This being the case, the call for those who are gay to repent still stands. Yes, they may be born that way. But they still need to repent of the lifestyle, the feelings, the desires, the actual acts and embrace Christ as He is presented in the gospel.

God doesn’t love you for who you are. That is a theological fallacy. He hates the wicked. If He loved us for who we are, then Jesus would not have HAD to die on the cross for our sins. But the perfect Son of God HAD to die in order to redeem the wicked. We all need to repent no matter what our sins are.

Abortion in America is Still a Big Problem — Al Mohler has a good piece on about the prevalence of abortion in America. This truly is sad. Even with the introduction of ultra-sound equipment, showing us that a child is actually alive in the womb, the statistics still keep mounting. I think that this will continue until those of us on the right, somehow manage to start educating our children and the children of others about the truth of life. As long as the left controls education in our country, this problem will continue as it has.

President Light Weight — I love this story about the exchange between Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona and President Light Weight. It really gives us some insight to his fortitude when it comes to dealing with those that disagree with him. In case you don’t know, the two got into a heated exchange because Light Weight didn’t like what Gov. Brewer wrote about him in her book, Scorpions for Breakfast. According to reports, the president brought up the issue and when Brewer didn’t back down, but stood her ground, he couldn’t handle it and walked off. He didn’t even have the decency to let her finish her sentence.

This doesn’t surprise me. The man (and I use the term loosely) cannot stand up to anyone who disagrees with him. He has had such a cuddled life, that when controversy arises that he can’t handle, he runs. Of course, he will strike back as well. Little men are viscous, and he has already proven himself to be little. Remember that President Light Weight has his attorney general suing the State of Arizona over their immigration laws. Arizona passed laws to carry out the laws of the Federal Government, which is not enforcing the laws. In other words, Arizona is seeking to do what the Federal Government is supposed to do.

Here is what Guy Benson writes:

Barack Obama was condescending, hectoring, and patronizing toward an elected Repubican?  Gee.  In his defense, maybe he was just wee-wee’d up over the fact that Brewer waltzed to a double-digit re-election victory in 2010, largely because she stood up to his White House to defend a law that Arizonans overwhelmingly support.  Popularity has been scarce for our president over the last few years, so this could be a manifestation of job approval envy.

BTW, I think the president is the result of a liberal education, a liberal upbringing and woosification of men in our society. He is a product of the liberal establishment and what they want to do with our children as well. Instead of being raised to be a man of honor and dignity and character, he is bully. He attacked Gov. Jan Brewer, a woman, on something she wrote in her book, not something that was addressed in her letter to him before hand, showing that he is a little, cowardly man. When the fight got too tough, he ran and hid behind his handlers, just like bullies do when they are confronted.

Brewer should be given some sort of award for standing up to BOTUS (play on POTUS, President of the United States). She has shown more character and class that BOTUS clearly lacks. Kudos to her.

Mr. President: Quit Lying!

You would think that the POTUS would know better than to lie, but alas, politics what they are, our president feels that it is necessary to lie in order to get his way. I’m trying very hard to teach my children the sinfulness of this. I think I’m making some progress. However, I don’t think the Tea-Party Congressmen are having as much good fortune with the president of the United States as I am with my sons.

Yesterday, I was proud of the fact that Congressmen were calling BHO’s claim that social security checks would go unpaid unless they agreed to his budget requests. They flatly denied the charge:

Tea Party freshman Rep. Joe Walsh, R-I.L., has strong words for President Obama in a video posted on his website“President Obama, quit lying. You know darn well that if Aug. 2, comes and goes there is plenty of money to pay off our debt and cover all Social Security obligations,” says Walsh in the video.

Hopefully the greater public will realize BHO is lying. There is plenty of money to pay for Social Security and those things that are absolutely necessary to run the country, like funding the military. What is missing is the money he wants to use in ramping up his pet projects, like taking over our health care. For this, I hope that the Tea Party Congressmen stand strong and don’t give in an inch. It seems that they are standing strong and not giving in to the fear tactic. Here is a piece from Foxnews this morning:

House Republican lawmakers are strategizing how to get a debt deal done in short order and avoid any potential loss in the U.S. credit rating, saying Friday they will vote on legislation next Wednesday to “cap, cut and balance” the budget.

The legislation — an extension of a pledge introduced by Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and signed by dozens of GOP lawmakers this week — aims to reduce federal spending, impose spending caps over the next decade and require the eventual passage of a balanced-budget amendment to raise the debt ceiling.

The “cap, cut and balance” provision would include a debt ceiling increase, though the size of the package and period of time it would cover is still being debated.

Speaking in a GOP press conference, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said the GOP approach will “demonstrate that we are getting things under control and so that the people who put is here can gain some confidence that we’re going to live like they do … We hope our Democratic friends on the other side of the aisle can join us in that balanced approach.”

“We need real spending cuts, and spending cuts that would exceed the amount of debt” that would be increased, House Speaker John Boehner said.

“We asked the president to lead, we asked him to put forward a plan, not a speech, a real plan, and he hasn’t, but we will,” Boehner said.

I am saddened by all this as well. Why cannot the president just deal honestly with those in his party? Is he so hell bent on spending this country into bankruptcy that he cannot do what is right when it comes to balancing the budget? I’m glad that the GOP is not buying it. At least I hope they are not buying it. The president is due for a speech here this morning. I expect he will continue the lying in order to get his way.
