Confusing title? Yes, me too… confused… like you. Neil, over at Eternity Matters, continually cites the Hillbuzz, which is a site run by a bunch of gay guys out of Chicago who are… well, turning conservative except for their gayness. In fact, they state on their latest post about Coulter’s latest column that they may just turn straight, except, they would like to know if Coulter has a younger brother.
The gentlemen at Hillbuzz have been reading Coulter for so long that they are now conservative in their politics and know that that the Democratic party has sold them up the river, and has been doing so for years. They are just coming around like many of us have when it comes to politics and policies that effect our nation and protect our nation. The Dems and their strategies for the nation are bankrupt and have always been. Just look at Greece. That is a model, socialist country and they are now bankrupt, financially speaking, and the rio
ts are spreading forth like the change Obama wants. Greece is the end result of the policies that are put forth as the “answer” yet fail so miserably.
Case in point: the storms that hit Tennessee and killed 31 people in Nashville, TN. Hardly any mention in the press. Why? Because there were no riots, no way the left could use the storm to advance their pet causes, no people being taken advantage of. It was one of the worst storms in Tennessee in 75 years, but hardly any press on it. This is simply because there was no way the Left could exploit it for their advantage. Hockey writer Patten Fuqua steps away from his coverage of hockey to write about it in an article entitled: We are Nashville.
A large part of the reason that we are being ignored is because of who we are. Think about that for just a second. Did you hear about looting? Did you hear about crime sprees? No…you didn’t. You heard about people pulling their neighbors off of rooftops. You saw a group of people trying to move two horses to higher ground. No…we didn’t loot. Our biggest warning was, “Don’t play in the floodwater.” When you think about it…that speaks a lot for our city. A large portion of why we were being ignored was that we weren’t doing anything to draw attention to ourselves. We were handling it on our own.
Some will be quick to find fault in the way rescue operations were handled, but the fact of the matter is that the catastrophe could not have been prevented and it is simply ignorant beyond all reason to suggest otherwise. It is a flood. It was caused by rain. You can try to find a face to stick this tragedy to, but you’ll be wrong.
Parts of Nashville that could never even conceivably be underwater were underwater. Some of them still are. Opry Mills and the Opryland Hotel are, for all intents and purposes, destroyed. People died sitting in standstill traffic on the Interstate. We saw boats going down West End. And, of course, we all saw the surreal image of the portable building from Lighthouse Christian floating into traffic and being destroyed when cars were knocked into it. I’m still having trouble comprehending all of it.
And yet…life will go on. We’ll go back to work, to school, to our lives…and we’ll carry on. In a little over a month, I’ll be on this website talking about the draft. In October, we’ll be discussing the new Predators’ season with nary a thought of these past few days. But in a way, they changed everyone in this town. We now know that that it can happen to us…but also know that we can handle it.
Because we are Nashville.
The problem is that Dems only give attention to something they can exploit, as the guys/gays over at Hillbuzz have discovered. Gay people are only important to the Dems as long as the Dems can exploit them for their own purposes. Once they are in the fold, they are no longer important. The important things for Dems is to keep the country divided and use those divides and issues to garner more power. I like what Coulter writes about Obama and the attempted bombing in Times Square:
It took Faisal Shahzad trying to set a car bomb in Times Square to get President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano to finally use the word “terrorism.” (And not referring to Tea Party activists!)
This is a major policy shift for a president who spent a month telling Americans not to “jump to conclusions” after Army doctor Nidal Malik Hasan reportedly jumped on a desk, shouted “Allahu Akbar!” and began shooting up Fort Hood.
After last weekend, now Obama is even threatening to pronounce it “Pack-i-stan” instead of “Pock-i-stahn.” We know Obama is taking terrorism seriously because he took a break from his “Hope, Change & Chuckles” tour on the comedy circuit to denounce terrorists.
In a bit of macho posturing this week, Obama declared that — contrary to the terrorists’ wishes — Americans “will not be terrorized, we will not cower in fear, we will not be intimidated.”
But please note, Obama is all that interested in keeping America safe. His policies are empty, otherwise, he would actually have those who come from Islamic nations screened when they enter an airport. That did not happen with the Times Square suspect. In fact, he made it on the plane to head to the United Emirates even though his name is on a “no-fly” list. Do you feel safe with the Dems in power? The guys as the Hillbuzz don’t, and neither should you. All the more reason to becoming a conservative. Thanks Neil, for your use of their blog. It has been helpful.
Thanks for the link. I did a double take when I saw the title, wondering who wrote it and where it was going!
One of my blog-stalkers (the first guy banned from commenting at my site — long story) left a comment asking if I had changed my mind about homosexual behavior being sinful because I had linked to Hillbuzz. I just deleted it from the sp*m filter because I don’t like to encourage him (he claims to be Christian but, oddly enough, his posts lead most to believe that he’s an atheist).
But perhaps I should have responded by noting that of course I still consider the behavior to be sinful. God’s word is clear and hasn’t changed. But his comment was typical of the bigoted, stereotypical reactions of the Left. They assume that just because we teach what God says that we can’t see the humanity and value of others and that we couldn’t be friends with “sinners” (as if any of us aren’t sinners!). People like him are trapped in stereotype-land.
Would his initials be DT? I’ve seen him on other blogs as well and hope he realizes who I am before he starts his endless positions of butchering the Word of God.
No, his initials are E.D. I know DT and you are right — he’s the “the Bible is the word of God! Except the parts that I say are not!” kind of theological Liberal.
OK, didn’t realize there were more than one.
