Drifting in the Lake

We have been trying to LBB to say “Mama,” but for some reason he won’t do it. He constantly says, “Da dee, da dee,” which I love. But he still needs to learn to call out to “Ma Mee.” While changing him, he kept saying “da dee, da dee.” I tried to point out that he needed to say “Ma mee,” as well.

Finally, he looked up at me, smiled and patted my chest, and said, “Da dee!” He knows who I am…

Then, yesterday, we were going around the table pointing to Beth, myself and then LBB saying our names. I would point to Beth and say, Mamee. Then myself, and say, Dadee. And then to LBB and say, Anndee! I then pointed to Beth and said, who’s that? He said, “dadee!” and smilled really big. It has become quite the game. For some reason, he won’t say it. But he does know who she is…

This also happens to be part of the kissing mommy goodnight game. He won’t kiss her good night unless I do. He just smiles and tries to get away with a hug. Not sure why he thinks it is so funny. But the fortunate part to all of it is the Beth is still in good spirits about it. She knows he is just being a little boy, even though he is only 19 months old.
